Does anyone know if and when Disney's Easter Parade will be broadcast on TV? Too bad I can't be at the parks to see it in person!

Esmeralda--I've got some bad news for you.
As of 2000, WDW no longer has an Easter Parade! I'm not entirely sure why the scrapped it, but I'm sure $$$ has something to do with it.
Does anyone know about Disneyland? If they still have one, it might be televised...

It might have something to do with being PC in our society nowadays. The word "Easter" is considered too religious even though most of what you see out there is the Easter Bunny, and chocolate.............speaking of chocolate, I think I need to go get some!!! YUMMMMM

It's sad, but that
might have something to do with it. I really don't think most people give a crap. It's just a few loudmouths who make the trouble. I mean, come on, it's not like Disney was having the parade start with Jesus carrying the cross. I always like the Easter parade, and I'm Jewish!

LMAO, ROTF on that one!
I hope that it isn't because of the PC thing. That would be ashame! We all have our own beliefs, why can't we all just get along!! I mean "light up Frances!" (to coin a phrase)

If it was a PC thing, they could have simply renamed the parade, I agree that it was probably not popular enough to be cost effective.

I didn't even know WDW had an Easter parade
What kinds of floats did it have?

They reused many of the floats from the Christmas parade, and re-decoraded them with flowers and spring colors. Floats such as the S.S. Disney (the giant paddle-wheel steamship) and Winnie-the-Pooh's house were examples of this.
Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny always made an appearance on some float, and giant Easter egg floats would zip around, stopping to spin occasionally (just like the turtle and bumble bee from the main street electrical parade).
The parade also used to feature many live animals, such as geese, sheep, and puppies, usually travelling on the floats instead of walking the parade route.

It's gone?! I was wondering why it hasn't been televised on regular TV for the past few years. I should have guessed, but I never thought the Easter Parade would be gone. After all, it was more of a springtime (and chocolate!) celebration than religious parade. Well, such is life I suppose. Thanks for the pics, kgmadorin. Brings back fond memories of sitting by the TV with a basket full of eggs after the hunt. Do they still do the Easter Parade in NYC?

Wow! It looks beautiful! Seems like a Disney version of The Tournament of Roses Parade.

There are too many parades. I think they should have less because it is hard to get around the park when the parades are going on.

I didnt even know that they had an Easter parade. Thats cool.
I like it when there are parades because I usually dont see them (I f I had already seen it during my visit) and go ride rides because everyone is at the parade...
The good things about the parades is that they are short and dont take up the road for that long...

Happy Easter all! Did anyone get to see the Easter Parade in person this year? I can't imagine the crowds, but I'll bet the weather was perfect.

I left the week before and it was madness when I left.
I am spoiled and never really go when its not off-peak. This trip we went end of March to the start of April. The crowds just kept ramping up.
We went to MK on April 2nd, and didn't eve go in the parks.. the crowd to get in was insane, so we went to the Contemporary and ate at the character breakfast at Chef Mickey's, then rented the water mice and zipped around Bay Lake and 7 seas lagoon.
Luckily by the end of our trip we had done most everything we want to do, so we just avoided the crowds.
It just reminded me why I always go in the off season
