Backyard Monorail

Post by zenmondo » Feb Wed 01, 2006 5:33 pm

After reading the old, massive Monorail Thread, I was reminded of something I saw quite a while back. Someone building their own monorail in their backyard.

The Niles Monorail

It took him five years to build. Its simply amazing, and very, very cool.

THAT IS AWESOME!!! I would love to build one of them. Now if I can only figure out how to lift concrete beams without a crane.

FRD714: I have not seen the backyard coaster. Gotta link? I still think it would be tough to top a backyard monorail though.

G2-4T: When you finish, can I have a ride? :) :D

I saw that a long time ago, well something like it, and it is so cool! Now if my whole town had one giant one to go places, like on the Simpsons!

I've seen the backyard coaster - actually there are two in Google. The wooden one takes up a lot of space. The steel one with the loop looks like the seat could fly off at any second.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

I am so impressed with the builders of these backyard roller coasters and monorails. I think there should be a service that build them for people.
