I've heard vague rumors of a third Toy Story movie. Being an avid fan of the first two, I was quite excited. Has anyone else heard any details about this, or was it just my hopeful imagination?

Yes there will be a Toy Story 3.........but it will not be released now until summer of 2008. It has been delayed again, I think due to the contract stuff going on. The plot according to Internet Movie Data Base [
http://www.imdb.com , the exact link is
http://tinyurl.com/blbdr ] is:
The story follows Buzz Lightyear as he is recalled to Taiwan after a series of malfunctions. Learning of a productwide recall, all the toys in Andy's room, under Woody's leadership, head to Taiwan to save Buzz from doom.

Thanks for the update, doc. Looks excellent to me, but such a long ways away! Hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

Ok - I just had to laugh when I read that plot line, gracias for picking up that link. At least it sounds like they are running with Pixar, for a bit it looked like they might go alone with it [and no doubt would have made a mess of it on their own].

We've been trying to keep up with the news on our site as well. Last I heard Tom Hanks wasn't too keen about doing a third one with out Pixar. A lot of people are having problems with a third installment. One because Pixar might have nothing to do with it, and second because the second because the storyline sounds like the idea is too close to the second film. Not really original is the complaint.

I don't see how they could top it. Unless it doesn't necessarily involve either Buzz or Woody. They could try for a lesser known character. But we'll see.

I think they should have done a conclusion story. Something about the kids growing up and what happens exactly to all the toys. Do they end up given to somewhere else, or do they end up in a haven for toys no longer played with. It would probably be a sad movie, but it would be happy at the same time because you know the toys will always have each other...

I think I would just like to see Toy Story left with 2 installments.. They were spectacular and can't be topped.
I want Pixar to focus on new and inventive material and not get bogged down in making movies that are "safe" bets.
The last few years for movies has been somewhat disapointing across the board. Its all sequels or remakes. I want more companies taking chances on original ideas, plots, storylines, and worlds.

What about the incredibles that wasn't a redue from anyone. The new one coming out in.........2006 now, CARS. It looks pretty good. I have liked or loved all of the PIXAR movies so far.

That why I want Pixar to keep going with original content and not make sequels..
CARS may not be up to Pixar standards... It is Pixar's last movie under the Disney contract and there has been fights etc during the entire production.
i worry.

I just think that Disney has lost all creative thinking. They haven't come up with an original idea for a movie in the past few years. And with Pixar not doing anything for Disney anymore, I'm sure the next few movies are going to bomb...
