From what I'm getting playing this, you have to not only keep an eye on your own players, but you also have to weigh the strength of a players opponent. I mean to say, you could have a better player on your roster playing a very tough opponent. You could also have a weaker player playing against a not so tough opponent. In a case like that you may want to go with the weaker player who you feel will have a better game against a lesser opponent. So those Huston VS Cleveland games can actually mean something in this league. Although in a spread driven pool those tend to be hard games to pick.

It's all stats driven and you are not actually worried about how a teams does. You want the best match for your individual players. You also have to watch a players history against different teams. If you know a certain player has a team's number you go with him. If you know the opposite to be true you find another match up.

I think I'm gonna do fine!!!

What's the limit on the number of free agents we can use during the season?

Just to correct what has been posted. Players DO NOT go on waivers for each week. The only time a player goes on waivers is after a team drops a player. At that time they will be on waivers for 2 days. If no manager claims them they become free agents.

The league voted last year to drop the weekly waiver rule. This league was set-up based on how last year's league ended.

Len - I apologize for the inaccurate info. It's confusing enough for a rookie team, I don't need to be adding to it.

Sorry guys!

Thanks for jumping in Len. And NaCler, don't feel bad, you didn't know it was changed...trust me, I need all the info I can get. Jacca might be feeling secure but I'm feeling a bit like Flounder (just floating by)...or maybe Dory...what's a football league?!

Don't forget there is game Thursday night. If you have any Saints or Vikings that you want in your lineup, get 'em in before kick off Thursday night!

NaCler no worries. Also I would like to point out that there is a league maximum of 50 moves allowed by each team for the season. You should really be saving those for when you will have to start adding and dropping players to fill your rosters during the bye weeks.

Thanks for the heads-up Len. I had not seen the limit on moves but I should be ok. I just had to do some adjusting as I didn't research my defensive players before the draft... Shame on me...

It's all statistics and you have to keep a close eye on the other players. I've gone over everybody's team from deep in my Tennessee mountain bunker! I have a crack team of dwarfs turning over every rock looking for value in every category and being sent out in Pirate ships all over the country. My raiding parties are ready to strike! BEWARE YEA HAVE BEEN WARNED!! I've got my spy scope on everybody!! You're off the map mateys..Here there be SeaMonsters!! ARGH!!!!Image

I wish I could like and/or understand football but I gave up. I tried watching one Super Bowl about two years ago or so when the Patriots played and I was just staring blankly at the screen.
