The mickey shape in some cases was just too weird when it was painted, so I'm not surprised...

I don't know...maybe if you collect up about 15 or so of the new ones shaped like bowling pins you could make your own miniature game of bowling...

I would guess they are just trying to expand the market by offering new and different shapes...
