I was recently watching some of the older Pixar movies (Toy Story and Toy Story 2, a Bug's Life) and I noticed something that the more recent movies are missing. while I was happy they brought back the short cartoon at the beginning of the movie, I miss the outakes they used to do during the credits. I think they should bring those back as some of them were funnier than any other lines in the movie. anyone else agree?

While I agree that the outtakes are awesome, for some reason (now that I'm thinking about it) outtakes wouldn't work for this film. I dunno why, just what I feel.

Not time to start another thread yet, but I just checked out Pixar's site and it looks like the next movie will be called Up. Watching the teaser, the balloons look pretty sweet!

This was mentioned in one of the more recent film's commentary (It could have been in Finding Nemo, but I may be wrong..), it was said that they were trying to move away from that, or something. I know it was mentioned in one of them. It's a while since I listened to them though, so I can't remember which or exactly what.

To be honest, I was never a fan of those "outtakes" anyway. I'd prefer something extra that fit into the story, if anything is to be there.

js, I noticed that too! I thought all the commercials with Wall-E playing with various trash items were hilarious, but it was always fun to go to the movie a second time and see the new outtakes. I suppose it's a lot of work for them, but it was a fun plus.

Which reminds me, Wall-E is at the cheap theaters. Time for another outing!

I wonder if outtakes wouldn't have worked so well for Wall-E due to lack of dialogue? Seems to me the outtakes in the older movies largely relied on the characters saying funny things and/or breaking the 4th wall for whatever reason.

I'm curious to know why they said they were moving away from it. I don't have Finding Nemo on dvd or I'd check (assuming Andy had the right movie there). Anyone else look this up?

Okay, time to make some people angry and I apologize for my opinion ahead of time.

But I thought this movie started out phenomenal with the no dialogue. It's a great movie the first half. Then the second half of the movie it's like Wall E is a secondary character and we follow around these other reject robots and the humans that I really could care less about. This whole second half of the movie I won't say is awful, but it's a let down. I get what they are saying about humans and robots taking over in the future... blah blah blah we've seen this idea a hundred times before. But that would be like me making a movie called Mulan and the film focuses soley on her father the second half of the movie. That's not what you want to follow or even care about.

To me this was a major disappointment from Pixar. Sorry. I liked it but was very disappointed on what it could have been. To me, Pixar looks like it's losing ideas.

It needed more script. The point wasn't well told. Too much dead time. Good character with no store line behind it. It didn't live up to the hype.

Oh I think the point was told too much. Like a hammer hitting me in the head over and over. We're destroying the planet, we're destroying the planet... we're all going to get more fat and lazy, we're all going to get more fat and lazy... I got it I got it already!

I really liked Wall*E too and we plan to add it to our collection. My son bought the remote controlled Wall*E with his birthday gift cards. He is so cute!

I have not seen it. I remember seeing the previews and I was not interested at all.

For those of you who suggested Wall-E and the PeopleMover (I know there were a few ideas here), take another look at the movie. See those long transporters with all the fat chairs inside? There is a flashing sign as they get in, and yes, it's called the People Mover. Foreshadowing for Disneyland??
