Movies, TV, music, and more. Here's the place to talk about anything Disney outside of the parks.

I know we had 2 days where the mail did not come through our subdivision due to all of the snow. We finally got our poster b/c I had contacted D23 and they sent another one out.
Which poster did everyone get??? Just wondering how many different ones are out there or if they're all the same?

No poster was listed when I joined, only the calendar.

Do you guys and girls feel that it is worth it to sign up for D23? I've been kicking it around but can't get a feel for it.

The poster was only for the charter year. This year's gift is the calendar.
As far as do I think it's worth it? It depends. For us, we love the magazine and little "gifts" that come with them. If you add up the cover price of the magazine ($15.95) x4, that equals $63.80. Then if you figure the cost of the "gifts", the discounts at Downtown Disney (I don't know if it applies to WDW or not), and of course, the events (free or otherwise). From what I have heard in the past, the folks at D23 pull out all the stops.
We used the membership to get discounted tickets for the Expo in September. It ended up saving us nearly $50...

We like it, but since I don't know if we'll be able to take advantage of any of the expos etc...not sure if we would sign up again? We do enjoy the magazines though! And we love having our D23 cards! I think if we do renew it, we'll renew one of us instead of both having the membership.

I won't renew unless I will be able to make it to any events for the year. I liked the idea of being a charter member but didn't feel the price was worth only the magazine and poster. My fault for signing up when I live in Michigan and most of the events were in Cali!

I agree with you Amy, DH and I live in NW Indiana and I doubt we'll be able to make it to any of the events. DH like the Charter Member status too.

Are you planning on renewing boilerbabe? I just got something about renewing in an email yesterday. I just don't think I will go for it. The magazine is nice to flip through but I think I liked the "E" ticket magazine better when that was still around.

Here's what I can't understand - if Disney can hold its annual stockholder meeting in anyplace but WDW or DLR - from Kansas to Texas - then why can't D23 have its events in other places other than WDW or DLR?!?

Most likely just one of us will renew and probably only the "silver" membership. Right now DH and I both have memberships. It's just over kill. Plus, I doubt we'll be able to attend any of the "events". So, a long answer to your question Amy, just one of us will renew.

I decided not to join. Nice magazine, but hard to collect. I did purchase the first one to read & collect. It seems all the best events are in CA, so I will never make those. It also looks like Disney will steadily increase the pricing on the events, making it even tougher. If this had been a $40 membership, I would have probably joined. You are suppose to get a substantial discount on mags when you buy the subscription.
What I hope D23 will do is take over the Virgin Megastore that closed at Downtown Disney and setup a museum. All of us can go, but D23 members would receive a discount.

I'm not sure about that as I have never really looked. I think the membership number is longer than 5 digits though. Have you tried logging into your Disneystore.com (D23) account to see if the number is there.
