Hey NaCler, not to be the enabler or anything, but did you see that the Disney store is having a big sale on vinylmations right now?
Yes I did... $5.99 for Park 3 Series. I'm all over that! Thanks for letting me know. ;)
...and just when I thought you were successfully starting the 12 step program to beat this addiction, NaCler...

You can't beat addiction, you only get to go into remission until someone showcases the next generation.

*sigh*
Well, she got me. We went to the Disney store last night so she could get one more, and guess what: they had the Toy Story 3 collection. The picture of the Buzz Lightyear one looked so cool, I agreed to let her try for it by buying ONLY ONE. I felt the boxes, thinking that Buzz would probably be slightly heavier than the rest due to his helmet, and I narrowed it down to two boxes. It was really hard to tell which one was heavier, and I almost selected the one in my right hand, but then at the last minute second-guessed myself and went with the one on the left. By this time two C.M's were getting into the excitement with us, and the one girl rang up the purchase with a huge grin on her face, begging us to open it right then and there. So we did, and it was.... Woody! "Well, that's pretty cool" I said, "he's like... the main character..."
My sweetie was very happy to have Woody, but she still wanted to get Buzz. So she and the two C.M's were all looking at me like "well...? wanna try again...?" So what could I do? The excitement was intoxicating! So I said, "okay, one more...." So I went back to the boxes and picked up the one that I had almost chosen the first time, weighing it carefully in first my right hand and then my left... then doing the same with all the other boxes for comparison.... until I was convinced that yes, this must be it.... it's just gotta be. Well, you could cut the excitement with a knife as the C.M. with the Cheshire Cat grin rang up the second purchase... (meanwhile, the line of customers at the register was getting longer... but no one cared... everyone was getting in on the excitement...). The purchase complete, my sweetie grabbed the box, carefully opening it so as not to damage it (the box, that is... she wants to preserve them...) pulled out the foil envelope, felt it, and practically wet herself with excitement: "I think it's him!!!" she squealed.... carefully opening the foil packet, she reached in.... (the breathless hush of the crowd was palpable...) and pulled out..... BUZZ!!!! (and the crowd went wild....).

Hi, my name is Mousekedude. Last night I drank the vinylmation Kool-aid and got a "buzz."

Welcome to the club M-dude... I don't know what took so long! hahaha... Seriously, you guys have had MAJOR luck in opening the blind boxes. I half expected you to find the chaser in the Toy Story Series. For those of you playing along and have no clue what a chaser is; it is a vm that has an unannounced design. There is only one in a case of 24, so you have to be lucky to get one or trade or buy from Ebay later. In the Toy Story Series the chaser is Evil Dr. Pork Chop.

The fort has been penetrated... who else can I induct into our exclusive club??? Hmmmm.... oh mindflipper... a Pumpkin King vm would look good somewhere in your house! ;)

I have to say I don't get it, I really can not see the appeal of these little critters.

As an update, this series will be available in the parks AND in Disney Stores starting January 7. I only like Phil in this series so I don't know how many chances I'll take on the blind boxes.

Still waiting on the release date for the Villains.

HA! I knew calling them dollies would get the menfolk in an uproar ;)
Ok, I know I am sorta naive, but who in the heck is the green VM, second row, all the way on the right?!?!

M-Dude said the same thing...

I didn't get it either until I went to the parks and got caught up in the excitement of trading and not knowing what you are going to get. M-Dude was right about the CM's. Most of them are excited that someone is buying them and want to see what you just bought. The thrill of the chase is addicting... for now at least.

Amy - Collectibles... :D That green one is Rex from the Toy Story Series.

Are you sure? I thought I saw a Rex one and it looked different from that one

I think it looks like the Crocodile. Or how about Louie from the Princess and the Frog?

I'm having trouble IDing the one next to that one - red and white. And the all red one below him.

Yup. That about sums it up. There's something exciting about the whole experience, and once you've held one of the little critters in your hands you just fall in love with it. Disney must have some kind of mind-control chips implanted in those suckers... you touch one, and that's it.
Of course, I will say this: most of them are ugly and repulsive to me. But the ones we have are cute to me, so I like them. The only other one I think I still want is the R2-D2 from the Star Wars series. We may buy some random one just so we can try and trade for that.... or we may look for it on ebay like we did for the Herbie. After that, I doubt we'll get any more... for now.

Really? Maybe I'm immune to the effect because I bought one and felt nothing about it. Gave it away as a present noooooooo problem. These critters have no hold on me!
