Next year I would like to see having 1 IR player on our teams. There are to many injuries not to have at least one.

I honestly don't like the IR since it really is pointless in football. Once a player is put on IR they are 9 times out 10 done for the season.

I am thinking of implementing a WR/RB flex position for next year and for putting in a 5 point bonus for 100 rushing yards or 100 receiving yards.

We need to have a rules committee!

I agree with this... Also, maybe 2 points per sack. I think they are only 1 (same as unassisted tackle) right now.

I have posted that people should email me with ideas. I will take a poll of everything that is suggested to see what will be implemented next season at the end of this season.

As for a committee, there is no way to really establish one. The best we can do is have the majority speak on what gets changed, what gets added, and what gets taken out.

I agree that sacks should be more points!!

After watching all or part of almost every game this Sunday, I've come to a conclusion. With the new hit rule in place there were to many throws over the middle that last week would have been incomplete passes. The NFL has taken away the big hit! There is no longer anything to fear about throwing a pass in traffic. There were just to many plays were a week ago a defensive play would have made a hit the separated the ball from the receiver (OK, and may be separated a few body parts also. But that's football!)!

Don't get me wrong, I understand why. I just don't like gimmes over the middle! I mean let them play!! What's next, is the NFL gonna put flags on everybody's hips? This is FOOTBALL!! A defensive back has to be able to hit a receiver!! You can't have a man go across the middle and him not have to worry about being leveled!! It's just not FOOTBALL this way!!

Here's the soapbox back!!Image

PS I played defensive end. With the horse collar rule, I would have led the league in penalties. I LOVED grabbing a running back from behind by the collar and pulling them down!!

I honestly think a lot of this has to do with the shear number of injuries from helmet related contact. The league is trying to take actions to save lives and careers. Just take a look at what happened to Rutgers DT Eric LeGrand. He went to make a play and dove head first. He still is laying in a hospital bed paralyzed and last I heard on a ventilator. I think it is great to see that the NFL took action and I think the game will adjust accordingly. I foresee defensive players adjusting their hitting and timing to lead with a shoulder and they will make more effective and safer tackles.

I do think the rules had a strong impact on the crazy scoring that we witnessed last week. I do think we will have a few more weeks of this until things start settling down and adjustments get made. However, look at some of the amazing dominant defensive performances you had last week as well. Oakland, Washington, and Seattle come to mind for me.

I'll now pass the soapbox on to the next one ;)

So a trade can be vetoed. But a manager can pick up free agents and nobody can say a thing??

That has always been the case with yahoo. This league is set-up for managers to veto a trade between two teams. This is to ensure that all trades are viewed as fair and to prevent two teams from working together to build a super team.

If a player is on the FA list, it is fair game for all managers. First one to see a player is the first one to get it. That is how the system works.

Jacca - This is the nice way of saying that your trade with Amy wasn't fair to both sides. Chris Johnson is a fantasy stud and the number 1 player taken in most leagues this year. You were offering her a backup RB who occasionally gets a few points here and there but is not the same caliber of player. Since it was lopsided, the other managers in the league vetoed it. It happens. If you really want Chris Johnson, try to offer her one of your stud players or even two, then it becomes more fair to both sides and no-one is likely to turn it down.

Amy - Don't give up. You have a strong core of a team. Make sure your players aren't on bye weeks and you will be strong.

Thanks NaCler! But I don't want people to think Jacca was trying to take advantage though...we had talked about the trade and I understood what I was doing. But if it was vetoed I understand. Maybe I can fight back up to the top

I was never in any way trying to take advantage of AMY!! NaCler I find it insulting and DEMAND a PUBLIC apology. I talk to AMY and she's not very interested in football and she really didn't care about it!! NOW I AM WAITING FOR YOUR APOLOGY!!

You want a public apology, then come to the meet-up on December 4 at the Poly! ;)

Seriously, I wasn't trying to offend you and I thought I said it in a nice way. I didn't think you were trying to cheat Amy in any way and she confirmed that in her post. I just wanted to explain why your trade was not going through. I even offered you advice on how to complete the trade with Amy. I am sorry and I hope you truly don't feel insulted.
