Movies, TV, music, and more. Here's the place to talk about anything Disney outside of the parks.

I was brought up with Disney! When I was little, I was never w/o my stuffed Mickey Mouse! My parent's started taking me to Disney when I was 3.
When I'm at work and tell people I'm going on vacation, they make fun and say "back to Disney again!?" I've manged to make my DH a Disney nut as well, we spent our honeymoon in WDW.

We get back every chance we can.
I think people that haven't been to WDW in a long time have forgotten the magic. You don't ever have to grow up when you're there. It's a feeling that's hard to describe. I know everyone on this site understands though!!! There's magic at Disney!

Yes because my family friend always calls the Disney music I listen to (i.e. here) psychadelic music but of course he's joking. I have enough of it on my iPod to tease him with when I listen to them while I'm at Disneyland.

Unfortunately, I have had to. One person laughed at me for wearing a Disney watch last year that I bought when in WDW. I just turned and told them "I'm sorry to hear you were deprived of going to Disney World as a child". Well, that was the last time this person ever spoke bad about Disney.

People who haven't been to the parks have trouble understanding just how amazing the parks are. They think whats so special about a fun park? They just don't understand how impressive the place is, and how so many talented people work so hard to make just one attraction. I keep trying to get some of my nonbelieving friends to come with us, so it can blow them away, and inspire and entertain.

My parents don't want me to take my son back because he won't ride a few rides that he should be able to go on. There is so much more to Disney than rides and they just cannot seem to understand that!!!!

He won't go on POTC because it is dark and has a very small dip in it! I don't force him on it. Also he hated the 3-D bugs life movie and screamed to get out esp when the spiders were coming down! I screamed too! LOL!

I had to defend my obsession with Disney after harassing a fellow employee for her obsession with the Wizard of Oz.

. If disney was for babies and children would they have the rockin rollercoaster and the tower of terror???

Usually I defend why I would want to vacation to WDW as often as I have. I have always been told that "there are so many other places to see". My response is usually "Yes, I agree, and I have been to a significant number of locations both in the US and abroad. However, no place is as wonderful as WDW...it is the best".

For me, "explain" would be a better word than "defend". Especially to those people who go 1 time and come back saying "... it was OK but I think once is enough for me".

I can't figure those people out. My family members and my closest friends love Disney, but I do know my fair share of people who share the other philosophy..."It is not that much fun, it's just an amusement park, what do you get for the money you spend, ......". I have come to the sincere conclusion that unless you are a kid at heart, and you are not afraid or uncomfortable to be a kid at heart, you really can't appreciate all that Disney "is". How can someone NOT enjoy a place so filled with dreams, happiness, and inspirations of all kinds? I know when I am there with my husband and my kids, I never stop smiling because I am truly in a magical place with happiness all around and inside of me. Who would only want to experience it just once??

I have never had to defend my love of Disney. But I do get a few weird looks from my own family! DH and DD think I am a nut to listen to SSR all the time! I think they are nuts not too! Yea, I feel weird when DH says to other people, she can tell you all about Disney, she's a nut about it. And then they look at you like yea, she is weird.

I have had to for many years. I'm 26, single, and Love Disney.........Can you guess what people think when they here that. I have to defend it everytime I say I'm going to one of the Parks. Meh, if they don't understand it then so be it.

It's usually at work where I have found myself defending the most.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

I took my girlfriend down in 2007. I'm still defending my fanaticism. She just doesn't get it. To each their own I guess.
