I am waiting for Disney's "Uncle Tom's Cabin."

Probably because his last few movies were pretty bad!

You can still make offensive stuff and do pretty well if you're actually funny. Borat was a sensation. Harold & Kumar 1 is one of my favorite comedies of all time.

Can someone explain the difference to me between Jazz Age New Orleans and a country without a monarchy? Last time I checked neitehr one has Princesses.

I'm thinking the "Princess" title has to be a nickname or something she aquires in the movie.

About the PC... there will always be people that want to be difficult for the sake of being difficult.

Figment of Imagination wrote:It just doesn't sound like a very good story. How can you even have an American Princess? is she gonna be the princess of Mardi Gras? This PC thing is getting way outta hand. I love song of the Song of the South, it does take place in a time in US history that we can't forget or ignore. Uncle Remus is not a racist character I don't know why people think that, he is the wisest person in the movie. However the the term tar baby is used and it is a racist slur and its a shame that its in the film, but Disney didn't write the story. I worry that this new movie will just be another quick profit, short sited film. Even hand drawn animation is done with computers today. They just call it hand drawn sometimes when its D2.
Umm. I hope hand drawn animation isn't done with computers these days. I'll be working on this movie soon and I'm still using a pencil. They use computers to scan the drawings and add colors, effects, etc. but the actual animation is still done for the most part by hand. Eventually it will all be done in Harmony using wacoms or cintigs but it's still "drawn" by someone.

Hmm. Not much to go on there, though based on the 'original' story background, versus what I guess it's going to be (?) the only thing I kept thinking is 'Why is she wearing a tiara?' I also did the "Take the Princess and the Frog survey" at the bottom, but alas, it's just about the website.

'Why is she wearing a tiara?'
Wow... I don't know why I didn't notice that. Doesn't the frog become a prince and then make her a princess.

Maybe it's just marketing or something to imply that it's going to be abbout a princess. (In case you miss the title  )

No. I didn't go to Sheridan. I went to another animation school In toronto that employs several sheridan instructors. That was a few years ago though.

Hmm, I'm not sold by the trailer. The gag with frog didn't make me laugh, it made me well, gag. Ok, so it wasn't that bad, but I have my hopes set too high for the return to hand drawn animation. I can't wait to hear more about the plot!

I agree with Esmeralda. The trailer isn't quite what I expected, in fact it has made me not want to see the movie. They need to make movies like they did in the early nineties. Those are some modern classics.

Ahh. Cool. Oakville is my hometown and where I've lived most of my life, thus my curiosity. They used to be quite the farm team for Disney, though I don't know if they still are. :)

Yeah. I currently work with a lot of Sheridan grads. Some used to work down at Disney Feature in Burbank. It's been pretty dry in the world of traditional animation work but hopefully this movie will jump start Disney back into producing more. :mickey:

I am worried about this movie. Randy Newman has arranged the music. Now don't get me wrong, Newman is very good and I love his new CD, but he isn't "classic Disney." His songs don't really get stuck in your head like the songs of the Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins, Cinderella, etc.) or Alan Menken (the Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Enchanted, etc.).
