I actually don't like it because it doesn't look like a game. It's just the regular Google map with pushpins. Am I missing something?
Where are the "3D clickable maps"? Or is that all just stuff they haven't done yet?
It doesn't suck or anything, it just seems hardly worth a news story. I could post photos of my house and it would hardly be any different.

i thought it was pretty cool...yes like a video game but still fun. What i find frustrating is the controls..takes awhile to get used to it. and the load time is slow depending on your computer. After i updated my google earth i found it now has a flight simulator attached. take a low flight over Disney!

I did a fresh install of Google Earth. Do you have to do something special to activate some WDW-specific mode, or is it just the overhead shots with occasional ground level photos and wiki data?Croaker wrote:update your google.
EDIT: Ah, I got it. You need to right-click and drag to get any significant 3D-ness going on.
It's a nice start, but Google Earth probably isn't the right engine for this kind of thing. As everyone says, it's very laggy, and the interface for moving around is not very nice.
Something similar to the jet pack in Grand Theft Auto would be a nice way to jump around and feel really free in the environment.
(It's fun to be free.)

You've got to "turn on" the application. On the left hand side under "layers" click on the "plus" sign next to the word "gallery". Next, click on the plus sign next to "travel and tourism". Now, click on the box next to Walt Disney World. That will put a check mark in the box and activate the mouse ears on the map.

I don't mind that the images aren't as clear as they are in those Bird's Eye views, but I'd like more of sense of actually being in the environment. Ideally, I'd like to be able to get on a monorail and look out the window, but that's probably a long way off.ericpabear wrote:This is more like I thought it would be like. Only more detailed.

It's not happenaing for me, Disney World is not coming up in my Gallery - Travel and Tourism. I've just reinstalled Google Earth but still no Disney World. Going to contact Google to see what I'm doing wrong.

It's not bad. It is kind of funny that if you click on Space Mountain it shows what the new coaster will look like with the 2 seater coasters.
