Disney/ABC in talks with Hulu

Disney has long been in talks with Hulu and other Web-based content distributors as it tries to expand viewership of the ad-supported ABC shows offered on ABC.com and Web sites of its local TV affiliates, on AOL.com, and Comcast Corp's Fancast site.

The Walt Disney Co and Hulu.com have restarted talks over offering shows from Disney's ABC television network on the online video distributor owned by NBC Universal and News Corp, paidContent.org reported on Friday, citing unnamed sources.

The talks were described as "serious" by the sources and said to center on ABC prime time shows like Desperate Housewives, Lost, and Ugly Betty. Other content from Disney's cable networks, such as ESPN and Disney Channel, were also being considered, the sources said.

Interesting. If it goes through, I may have to check Hulu.com out. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah heard about that on Buzz Out Loud yesterday. It might bring me back to Hulu. After blocking Boxee and eliminating the older episodes of shows, like 30 rocks previous seasons. We will see how this goes, because if they (hulu) get ABC online with them then they have a better chance of becoming the main online video spot. I really don't understand why other "channels" don't do the online thing more. People want their TV shows when they want them NOT when they are told they want them. I don't want to go into a whole online Video/TV thing so I'm going to stop now before I write nine paragraphs about it.

Hulu sucks. I've tried watching stuff on there before with my super-fast broadband school internet and it's really jerky.

I use Hulu quite a bit and access it via my TV through PlayOn. I'd love to have ABC on there as I cannot yet browse ABC.com directly through the PlayOn service.

I'm with you there though I tend to watch Desperate Housewives every once in a while when I remember to catch it.

Just so long as I can watch Ugly Betty somewhere!! Right now I watch it on the ABC.com online player, but I could do hulu too.
