This is the approach I take nowadays. The same people that look at me funny for getting into excited discussions about new WDW attractions and the like get are the ones who get worked up about college football or American Idol or whatever floats their boat that I find completely boring.

Whatever makes you happy, right? Live and let live. ºoº

I've had to defend my love of Disney to my parents! They think it's nuts I love Disney so much. But they're boring anyway, so I'm not surprised...

I have a step brother who is so close minded that yeah at one point at WDW I treated him of insignificant moron who doesn't appreciate what life gave him! He just didn't like Disney or anything that do not have gas to work...*insert all insult you know here*

I hopped into a Christian chat room the other day and one of the people in there said she thought Disney was the most anti-Christian company ever. I left, didn't feel like getting into a "discussion" about it.

Later that night I was watching Swiss Family Robinson, the 1st thing the family did went landing on the Island was getting down on their knees to pray. Then on Pollyanna, there is a scene where the whole town is in church for Sunday services.........I got to thinking I wish I could hop back into that chat room and correct her. But again, I didn't feel like "discussing" it.

So I could've defended Disney at that time.

I have had coworkers wonder why I didn't get a new car instead of taking another trip to Disney. Since the same coworkers were constantly complaining about their car payments and my car ran fine and used less gas then theirs did I just politely ignored them. :mickey:

Well, most of the time I find myself defending why a grown person would go to a park that is just supposed to be for kids. I tell them about all the fun things adults can do, and usually it shuts them up. :)

To each his own I suppose. I grew up as a Disney fanatic (I plan on the boys being the same) and when anyone makes a comment like "your going to Disneyland again", I just chalk it up to them being jealous. :) - blue

I'm a Disney fanatic and thankfully the people in my live accept that and are pretty cool about it! I have never had to explain myself or defend myself about my Disney love!! It is just something I really really enjoy sort of like my husband who enjoys Red Wing Hockey to an almost fanatic point! It is just my interest!! I'm sorry some of you have had to defend you love of Disney, to me that's just sad!! Why care what other people are interested in!!

I have, especially after Disney dumped Narnia and pretty much everyone was out for blood, and all I could say was, "...but...I love Disneyland!". :p ;)
