Interesting fan tribute to Disneyland in Second Life
Curious as to if anyone here has ever tried Second Life...
Second Life is a free online 3-D virtual world. I ended up trying it out about a week ago on a recommendation from a friend, and found that someone was building a fan tribute to Disneyland, called Magicland.
Kind of neat to have seen everything they built...they have Main Street, Tomorrowland, Frontierland, and Fantasyland, with more that seems to be under construction.
I have links if anyone wants to check it out:

I tried to play it, but it is SO graphic and processor heavy that my poor little laptop chokes on it.

I had somebody talk about this in a psychology class while talking about virtual worlds. It seemed extremely complicated and tough to grasp. I'm sure it must be fun, but it is definitely something that would be time consuming.

Well, it is really like alot of other what are called "MMORPG"s (massively multi-player online role playing games), you can put as much or as little time into it as you want to.
It isn't too hard to grasp how to play and how to move. It was tougher for me because I play World of Warcraft (another MMORPG) and I am used to those movement controls , so I have to kind of re-train myself when I limp on to SL.

Yeah, that was yet another reason (besides choking my poor computer) to stop using SL..

Yes...Second Life can be time consuming...It took me about a day or so to get used to the controls, as I had never tried a 3-D world before. Fortunately, my computer was able to handle the 3-D graphics with no problem.
There is a search function in Second Life...being the Disneyphile that I am, the first thing I searched for was "Disneyland" and found Magicland
Interesting to note is that they have re-creations of working attractions, including the Peoplemover, CircleVision with America the Beautiful, and even the Railroad circling the park. Their attention to detail is quite amazing...kind of made me yearn for the Disneyland of yesteryear!

That's pretty neat! Too bad I can't zoom in and see it closer, though...I guess I'd need to get the application?
I'm not really into role-playing type things...only game I ever liked was Sims Tower. Now THAT was addictive.
