Well, you know, Pixar has actually done the sequels to the theaters first. Toy Story 2 and 3. So, maybe we will have a major motion picture of Wall-E 2: the Homecoming.

@ js3901: (More spoilers so also highlight to read)

I'm actually glad they didn't go through the process of explaining all of that, it would have messed up the flow of the movie a bit. But, given the nature of the movie, there was probably some special place on the Axiom as a garden or something, because that's also currently the only known way to get more oxygen on a ship. As for the babies.... either artificial insemination (ick) or cloning (more likely). I did notice, though, the fact that these humans still live mortal lives, though prolonged ones, as there were six adult captains for 700 years. As for the return, I don't know if they could say much about what became of the people; the general story was pretty obvious from the credits. Wall-E and EVE, however, I think they still have stories to be told. THAT I would want to see.

FINALLY got to see this movie last night with my DD8. It's been gone from the "mega" theaters in town for a while now, but the "classic" older theater downtown started showing it this week.

The movie was great, and I'm so glad we got to see it in a theater (rather than on DVD). The story certainly had a strong message. I would place this in the top 5 Pixar Movies.

I haven't seen this movie yet :P ( Yes. I poked my head in the forums to say hi :) ) I am dying to see it though cause it does look really awesome! but now it's going up against Nickelodeon's sponsered "Space Chimps" so I think it'll be fun to see which one does better market wise overall.

Seeing all the good things you all have said about it though I'll make sure to make that my first stop next time I hit a movie theater ( which is rather frequent :P )

I doubt Space Chimps will do any better than Wall-E. Most of us are fans of Pixar instead of Nickelodeon's animation. Wall-E's gross is far higher than Space Chimps and now that I'm looking at IMDB, I don't even see Space Chimps' numbers. So safe to say that you need to go see Wall-E.

It's good. Any Pixar filmed I've missed seeing in the theater I've been upset about. The big screen allows you to appreciate their level of detail very well.
Saw it twice, once with wife only, and second time with kiddos.

We first saw WALL-E at a drive-in double feature (played with X-Files). As good as my vehicle's speakers are, they do not compare to DTS certified walk-in theater's. Also, the drive-in's version was not as bright as the walk-in's. My only problem with the walk-in was the quality of the film. I realize that I saw it a few weeks after opening, but I had the same film quality complaint with Indy 4, which I saw opening day(2nd showing).

I think you best viewing will be on a 50+" 1080p Plasma playing a Blu-Ray version, with your 5.1 (or 7.1) DTS(or THX, I forget which they are) sound kicking in the thunder.

Yeah, I don't have one of those either.

"Put on your Sunday clothes...."
"Out therreeeee"

I just love the intro to the movie.

Interesting. It never even occurred to me that the Hello, Dolly! footage was live action.
I wonder how and why they picked that particular tune for the movie. It is also Main Street loop music.

Disneyland - Main Street - main st - loop2

^I read that originally Andrew Stanton wanted to use some sort of French music. Then a couple of years or so ago, a French movie used the music he was planning for the opening. He was just watching Hello Dolly when it struck him how perfect that would be for Wall-E and how much the little robot was really a hick in outstate New York looking for an adventure.
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

One other thing--John Ratzenberger.

I really like how Pixar uses him in all their feature films. Liked him in Cheers, like him as voice talent for their films.

That is all.

I've just come back from WDW and I was very shocked to see no mention of the new movie anywhere there except on the backstage tour at MGM. (thats right I wrote MGM) I think they should have pushed it more. I was ready to buy Walle toys and I haven't even seen the movie, he just so cute, but all they had were a couple of pins. :(

I'm shocked and sad to hear they don't have anything more with Wall-E?! I thought that movie was a huge success?!
