Very good question. I asked myself that for about a year or more before just deciding to buy it. I had played KH: CoM and saw parts of the first Kingdom Hearts, so I just decided to go ahead and buy myself the Playstation 2 and I got the first game as well. I've gone as far as Hollow Bastion.

I loved all the games myself. finished them all too, around 40 hours or so each to finish on the normal mode...

Yeah, I can't remember how many hours I've put into the game, but my sisters looked at me like I was crazy when they saw I had done more than 24 hours of game play.

We bought a PS2 and I started playing the first game. After going through 4 PS2 consoles in less than 2 weeks, I had to give up on the game and give up on Sony.

Does anyone know if Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ is supposed to be released in the US? There was debate over the idea, but I haven't heard any official answer yet.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be. There are a few unofficial rumors that there will be an announcement this summer that it will be released in November '07 in North America, but nothing from Squeenix on it.

I hope Final Mix+ will be released here. I have seen a few cutscenes on YouTube in Japanese and I'm dying to know what's going on!

I've heard that the next installment of Kingdom Hearts will have all new characters and nothing to do with Sora, Riku, and Kairi....but that the 4th installment will pick up where KH2 left off. Anyone heard the same? :mickey:

well, the secret ending looked really interesting, and it seemed like the 3 characters were talking about someone new. what interested me most was the endless field of keyblades in just about every style imaginable. can't wait to see how that plays out.

I'm currently replaying KH1 and going to go through the whole series from start to finish. I'm just about done with 1, just want to do some of the special bosses, then on to the final battles

What I thought was interesting is that none of the keyblades except for the three that are in the middle at the "crossroads" have key chains. That has to mean something important. Maybe all of those countless keyblades are fake? I don't know. It did mention something about a "keyblade war". And after watching this video I thought it was interesting that the mysterious bald man was wearing clothes that looked remarkably similar to Ansem/Xehanort's clothes from KH1:

There must be some connection to Ansem/Xehanort in this next Kingdom Hearts installment. Maybe we find out who he really is? Remember, when the real Ansem found Xehanort, he had no memory of his past life. Whoa, and Mickey there at the end? It makes me wonder...does this video portray events from the past? So many questions!

you know, I never saw the entire movie. The stuff with the bald guy wasn't on the US version (so far as I saw). I remember it ending with the wide angle of the 3 at the cross roads. the entire thing looks to be from Final Mix, which I'm hoping comes here.

and I think you may be onto something with the Xehanort thing. In fact, after the 3 pick up the keyblades at the crossroads, and the words flash up on the screen, one of the phrases says "Memory of Xenahort".

I think the third will be the best yet. We know from Ansem report 9, from KH1, that
The Keyblade is said
to hold phenomenal power. One legend says it's wielder saved the world, while
another says that he wrought chaos and ruin upon it.
We've seen Sora save multiple worlds, on both KH1 and KH2 (KH CoM was set in one place - castle oblivion). what about the ruin and chaos? what's THAT storyline like, I wonder...

You're right, the US version only had the first movie and I just stumbled across the second one within the last couple of months. I'm not sure if it's from Final Mix but it probably is.

I agree, we never have heard the chaos and ruin side of the story. A couple of other phrases that flash across the screen that interest me are "chasers" and "the lost two". I wonder what those mean? And then there's the phrase "birth by sleep" at the end. Man! All these little clues that won't make sense until the next game comes out. Maybe if Final Mix+ reaches our shores, it will give more insight to the meaning of some of these clues. I'm so anxious to find out what happens!

There've been a few interviews with Tetsuya Nomura confirming (at least thus far) that KH3 won't really be the 3rd in the series, but a side story, or possibly a prequel, dealing with the 'Keyblade War'. He describes who the people are in the secret trailer here, at least, giving their names and their possible, maybe sort of relation to Sora et al. ;) I've yet to see anything from him about the Xenahort-looking guy, though. I'm a little bummed that is seems Sora and everyone might not be in the next one (especially if it really is a prequel) but I guess time will tell.

Still hoping FM+ will reach us. If it doesn't, I may end up breaking down and getting a PS2J online and brushing up on my Japanese...
