usually, we wait about a month after the release. by then, most who are going to see it have seen it at least once. by then, it's ok to divulge spoilers. also, it's not foll-proof, but if you're bursting to say something, you could always change the color of the text to white and have people highlight it to see it. Of course, the white doesn;t blend PERFECTLY with the background, so you can kind of see it without highlighting. the choice is up to you...
now for my take, no spoilers...
I thought the movie seemed a bit disjointed. as Barbossa said in the first movie, "You're off the edge of the map, mate". I thought that almost all through this movie. Almost like the writers were too busy with the second one to focus on the third. overall, it was a good movie, I thought. I liked Bill Nighy's performance, but thought Orlando Bloom couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. He was just there for the fangirl appeal.
I'll post some of my other thoughts in about a month...

I don't know, but I am so excited, I have to talk to some one about it. I love "Pirates Of The Caribean" movies !!! I get totaly lost in them. Time goes by so fast. I don't have a bad thing to say about any of them. And this one was just as great, if not better than the others.
Even Letterman gets into the act:
Top Ten Signs You're Watching A Bad Pirate Movie
Parrot infects entire cast with deadly Bird Flu
The swashbuckling lead character is named "Gilligan"
Pirate wears eye patch because of nasty racquetball injury
"Ship" is a 1992 Toyota Corolla
It stars Johnny Depp's cousin, Carl Depp
Long discussions about which is the best over-the-counter seasickness remedy
It chronicles the hero's attempt to open a Long John Silver's franchise
Instead of hook, pirate's missing hand replaced by giant "We're #1" foam finger
Pirates square off against those hilarious Geico cavemen
It's basically "Brokeback Mountain" on a boat

I thought it was a very good movie. Not as good as the first in my mind, but very close. I thought it was easy to follow the storyline, but could understand why some people didn't (My brother that was with me was a little confused.) I can't wait to see it again and get that thing for Christmas on DVD.

The following review contains no spoilers.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, I went to the theater yesterday with two of my friends and we got there almost an hour early for seats.... I'm a Pirate's fanatic. Anywho we go in and were sitting in the top row and I can only hope and anticipate that the movie will be better than the second... maybe even better than the first. Now after seeing the movie here's my take. Excellent movie it really is. Gore did a phenominal job with the visual effects in this one and I actually thought that the storyline flowed smoothly... yes I'll agree there were a few points of confusion but they were easily discussed and figured out within a few minutes of my confusion. If you've seen the trailers and seen the whirlpool clip... it's far better in the theather
I was actually ok with the ending though I would have liked it to have more finality to it. Overall the third one has done a better job of story than the second. The first will always be my favorite and probably the best of the series because it emulates what's classic about that ride, but this comes in as number 2 for me because it too has some interesting classic ride influences I will not mention them here but go see for yourself and you'll understand what I mean. Overall awesome movie and I will probably see it again just for the heck of it.

My feelings exactly; the first is still the best, but this was much more satisfying than the second. My teenage daughter hated it though, I think because of the ending. Speaking of which... make sure to sit through the credits to catch the final scene... we missed it and I'm so upset!! Now I'll just have to go see it againAKLRULZ wrote:Tons better than the second one but not as good as the first. I liked the ending and LOVED the scene after the credits roled. Perfect set up for the 4th.

when I was there, I caught a kinda early matinee, and there were only about 10 or 15 other people in the whole teater. not one of them stayed until after the credits. besides the 2 employees who came in to clean up, I was the only one who stayed.

Same here. We caught a 10am matinee. Maybe a dozen people in the place. No one stayed till after the credits.js3901 wrote:when I was there, I caught a kinda early matinee, and there were only about 10 or 15 other people in the whole teater. not one of them stayed until after the credits. besides the 2 employees who came in to clean up, I was the only one who stayed.
I read on another site, they cut out the details of the curse on Davey Jones.
Now I understand the 10 year, land deal and why Davey Jones was so p.o..That was a big mistake cutt'n that out. I have no clue how to find out if this guy realy knows what he was talk'n about.

I read the same thing, and I was hoping to get more details on this. If this is true, it changes the film for me.ericpabear wrote: I read on another site, they cut out the details of the curse on Davey Jones.

The details would only confuse you, since it plays no part in the movie. Also it may not be the truth. I can not verify what was written.

FWIW, considering anyone can enter information, Wikipedia's entry for At World's End states the same thing under the spoiler section...that the writers have said a scene was deleted from the film that explained the curse, and it likely will change your understanding of part of the film. But, like ericpabear said, I'm not certain of it's validity.
That being said, definitely just watch the film first and check out this info afterwards.

Think most people are finding the 3rd on is confusing, because the plot wasn't as good as the first. Like all sequels they tend to just pile one story points and don't worry if they fit into the overall plot. I just think they left a lot of loose ends, and half hearted story lines.

RichCalypso. They have a huge build up.. and all that happens is she turns into a 50ft woman, then crabs, then a storm.. huh? Why should the build up for basically no pay out.
