Disney Code Terms

Post by bayouminnie » Dec Sat 17, 2005 6:54 pm

O.K., I consider myself a true disneyfile. My family thinks I am just plain sick and need help. However, I really have to think about the "Disney Codes" that are used on this and other sites. My husband and I joke all the time about the world becoming one abbreviation and acronym after another.

I don’t know if there is a web site devoted to this. I’d like a print out of the codes to keep by my computer. I’d thought I’d share my most used codes for others in the same boat!

Code Meaning
FW Fort Wilderness
MK Magic Kingdom
WDW Walt Disney World
RRC Rockin’ Roller Coaster
ToT Tower of Terror
IJSS Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular
BTM Big Thunder Mountain
SM Space Mountain
SpM Splash Mountain
TSI Tom Sawyer Island
TTA Tomorrowland Transit Authority
ELP Electric Light Parade
CR Contemporary Resort
CBR Carribean Beach Resort
DTD DownTown Disney
DQ Disney Quest
Ill Illuminations

hwichar, which sounds exactly like "hey waitress can I have another round" at midnight around the Cove Bar.

I usually just refer to those abbreviations as Disney-speak. I can never say them and keep a straight face at the same time for some reason.

Oh, and "Welcome Home."

Here's a handy, if incomplete, list, courtesy the DIS:

Some are general chat/message board abbreviations, not all are Disney-specific.

lol..... BLAB

I had always reffered to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster as RnR. The list also says it that way.
Just last night I searched http://www.acronymfinder.com and almost all of these were on here.
Interesting, you search "tot", tower of terror comes up on the first page. It even recognized "sm" as space mountain (but I had to scroll through five pages of alternate meanings first.
I had always wondered what HISTA meant....
That site guessed so many.
Try and see if you can find a disney acronym it doesnt know. I've had a hard time doing that.

I'm surprised Trick or Treater didn't come up for ToT. It's always referred to that on Halloween sites.

I liked that link Jumbo, and in it I found this http://www.alphadictionary.com/articles/yankeetest.html
It was fun! I am a Dixie, so I guess that makes me a Southerner!
Sorry got off topic, but its kinda relative cause I mentioned the link jumboshrmp sent us
