:D I keep planning on making a castle rug. I have the canvas and some of the yarn already cut, but I need to make the pattern and I am not looking forward to that.

Big rugs take so long to make I'm not sure I could price them in an affordable range. Even pricing at something like $5 an hour for work would result in a price tag of about $500 for the rug I linked. (Not that I'd be against taking commissions, I could really use the money! )

Yes, you really should make that pattern! And share it when you're finished if you don't mind. :)
Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

You could sell the patterns. Not necessarily the completed rugs. I just don't have the artistic ability to make my own patterns, but I am great at following other people's.

I know Polynesian said she had to be done with her shirts by friday but if anyone else is interested in making Tie dyes for a trip or for aany other reason, the dyes and setting agents you really want to get to ensure a great shirt are soda ash, and procion dyes. soda ash is a white powder you mix 1 c to a gallon of warm water and pre soak your shirts to set any dyes. procion dyes are powder dyes you can get at any art store and they are amazing colors! adding a little salt to your final wash in the washing machine never hurts either.

if you are doing a bunch of shirts one color, you can get a dye called idye, you pour it right into your machine (it's a powder) and it does something like 15 shirts! you are guaranteed to have the whole family look the same! you can pick this up at the art store as well.
