I just booked a trip September 14-18 to WDW. Anyone been there in September and can give me an idea of weather, crowds, et al to expect?

Still very hot and fairly busy, though not as busy as summer vacation. Weekdays are your best bet if you can arrange it, since most kids are back in school. :)

This should help Quickgold. :)
SEPTEMBER
TEMPERATURE (AVERAGE) - HIGH: 90ºf / 32.5ºc
TEMPERATURE (AVERAGE) - LOW: 73ºf / 23ºc
RAINFALL (AVERAGE) - IN INCHES: 6.0
One of the quietest times of year to go.

haven't actually been there in September, however, I have been down there at the tail end of August, which is close enough I think. When we've gone, it's hot, humid, and rained every day for at least 10 minutes. Crowds were not really bad, mainly due to the heat/humidity. most people were trying to get into the airconditioning and/or out of the rain. Wait times for ride ranged from absolutely no wait (went on PotC twice without having to get off) to about 30 minutes or so (for Space Mountain/test track)

hope that helps a bit. have fun

IRT Disneynut:

Really? Was that off the official website? I've always found September to be fairly busy, at least on the weekends. That's when the season pass holders get their privileges back, and all the locals flock to the parks in droves. Not that I'm doubting you, but that's at least been my past experiences.

Yep. September is definitely marked as one of the best months. I'm not really sure why I remember it being fairly busy, but I guess it's all relative when you live down here. If I have to wait longer than two minutes for ANY ride, I get p***. :)

Sorry about the misinformtion!

Same here, I don't have alot of patience for waiting in long lines. Are you an AP holder?

Seasonal Pass holder. The blackout dates on annual are the exact dates that you couldn't pay me enough to go. :) Besides, those are also the times when "friends" come out of the woodwork for a free vacation (i.e., "I know you don't remember me from high school, but can we stay with you when we come to Disney?") and this keeps me from at least having to be their tour guide. :?

Thanks everyone for your help (especially Disneynut for posting that info). I'm going in September because I heard it was fairly empty. Looking forward to my trip :)
