I remember getting them when I was very young (along with candy apples), but there was a big scare about unwrapped/homemade treats in the late 70s/early 80s, which is about when things like these disappeared (even the commercial popcorn balls were very loosely wrapped with waxed paper in those days, very untrustworthy, apparently). I don't know if this has changed in recent years.

We only get a few trick or treaters in our neighborhood (we're spaced pretty far apart, so it's a long walk with potential for little return), but we put out a bowl of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

Best part about that scare was that there were no reported cases, ever.

Isn't it cute?! I can't remember how much the regular souvenir buckets cost but this seems expensive to me!

It looks like it could be recycled into candy dish for halloween candy after you eat the popcorn...

Oh that's what those are, I think they have them for sale here but not as popcorn buckets, they are in the pile with the other candy buckets.

Did you happen to notice the price out there?

Nah, I'll check next time but they are probably a similar price (and may appear on the popcorn carts too). I have a feeling they are charging so much (if it's over the normal souviner popcorn bucket price) simply becuase they get only a month and a week to sell the product rather than a full year.

Apparently the annual popcorn buckets are a pretty hot commodity at DL. We saw people buying 3 or 4 at a time last year, and the lines were insane!

That's a really cute bucket though...

I'm tempted to get one. It's a great idea to double it as a candy bucket. I may buy one for my little brother.

Never bought that many at a time before, but I have saved a few of my favories over the years. :P
