Beware of Irene!!!
If anyone is planning a trip this weekend last minute think again!!! Hurricane should be a cat. 3 storm by Friday making landfall somewhere in Fl, so you may want to keep an out out for it. I know we are already preparing here in South Florida!

Re: Beware of Irene!!!
The latest projection at 2 PM has it passing by Central Florida (Orlando and Daytona region) on Friday morning, passing by North Florida (where NaCler and I are located) possibly Friday late afternoon/evening, and then making landfall on the southern coastline of South Carolina on Saturday morning-ish.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy that they keep pushing it a little more to the East every time they project a path for it. But then it is headed towards WWDRH...

Re: Beware of Irene!!!
Current NOAA/NHC projection now has it heading up to North Carolina, and further east of Florida. Mind you, Florida will still get the rains from it...yodiwan1 wrote:as of an hour ago the storn was moving farther East!!! looks like Len is almost in the clear!!!!

Re: Beware of Irene!!!
The storm we had yesterday made me think Irene was a little closer and earlier than they thought. I'll take the rain from it, but I hate that it's projected to NC... again.

I've heard some rumblings from some of my emergency personnel friends here that are on alert. People are hunkering down and preparing for the worst.NaCler wrote:The storm we had yesterday made me think Irene was a little closer and earlier than they thought. Re: Beware of Irene!!!
The latest projections from NOAA/NHC at 11 AM still have it heading to North Carolina for some time on Saturday.
As for Len90, this still can wreak some havoc on him: he will be flying back to NJ on Saturday, and the hurricane will be between him and NJ...

Maybe they will just have to stay in WDW longer?!mindflipper wrote:The latest projections from NOAA/NHC at 11 AM still have it heading to North Carolina for some time on Saturday.

Re: Beware of Irene!!!
This thing has me worried---looking bigger and bigger...
The only good thing about these forecasts is that they keep moving it east. Hopefully it will go right between the US and Bermuda!
I might need to to go WDW to get away from this storm
