I have been doing some research about the work that it takes to become an offical disney travel agent. Any one have any experience with becoming one or what it takes or how easy or difficult it might be?
I have all of the info as far as what it takes to apply to become one, but anyone know the steps after that??

Help!

Do you know any Disney travel agents? You might want to reach out to one...or some...to get their feedback.

I would love to be able to do something like this one day...whenever I can retire (long, long time from now)

I don't know any...and I have tried to reach out to agents, but have not been able to speak directly to someone who is one and has gone through the process.

Even if it was just a side job, I think it would be fantastic!

I would imagine the requirements are that you can upsell, upsell, and upsell some more. :D

Are you talking about for Disney direct or to be an independent travel agent. I know from asking an AAA travel agent that they all go to a program in WDW. I believe they are shown all the resorts and have to pass a test at the end of it to graduate.

LOL, Len90, when I originally saw this topic I was going to suggest that they send you a PM instead. Have you ever thought of it as a part-time summer job while in college? Being a travel agent booking people's trip to WDW. It's up your alley...

There's a college program role called "vacation planner" that is essentially this exact same thing. My roommate is doing it next winter.

Haha I honestly have thought about doing that. However, to me planning a family vacation involves countless days of hard work. Booking the room is the easy part. I constantly check dining, rental cars, and airfares so I can get the times and rates I want.

When you think about it, I actually think there are a few of us who could very easily do this.

That would be fun to see what is actually on the test!

Thank you all for your suggestions! I am never quite sure how to find this information. I would love to speak to an actual Disney Travel Agent like from Small World Vacations or another like that...but it is hard to get contact info. I just think it would be an amazing job since I feel like I plan trips for everyone I know anyways! I'm always trying to find a way to incorporate working for SOMETHING having to do with Disney without moving to Florida or California. lol Any suggestions with that are welcome as well! :goofy:

Have you tried to contact anyone at Kingdom Konsultants? I know Marie, Pam and Richard personally from another Disney fan site and they would be more than likely be able to answer any of your questions you might have, especially Pam as she is the owner of KK. Good luck!

I have used MouseFan Travel on several of my trips and they have been very helpful. They have a link on their site about joining their team...
