Has anyone travelled to WDW with children under 2? This is our first trip with our daughter--she will be 18 mos in December, when we go. I'm wondering if it's easier to take along a collapsible stroller or just do the whole rental thing? It gets costly to have to rent one for 7 days-is it worth it, though? Also, has anyone tried one of those hip holders for toddlers? I'm up in the air about getting one for the trip, too. Thanks!

We've been taking our kiddos down there since they were born. We bought an inexpensive collapsible umbrella type stroller with a hood to protect them from sunlight and it worked great! We also rented on a couple of days and it's just not as convenient as having your own.

also, those rentals are huge. Especially if you're over in the IASW/PP area. That area is so small as it is, those stollers become barricades so people can't get through.

I'd say bring your own collapsible stroller. That'll ensure you have one even while going from hotel to park and back...

Hey, didn't they re-work that area and have stroller parking in the old skyride station? That was always an awful bottleneck on a crowded day - made Fantasyland into Horrorland!

while they may have made that into a stoller parking station, it doesn't stop people from parking them anywhere they want. Last time I was there in 2002, it was a pain to get through there, even with that new parking area...

I agree, the strollers that Disney rents are great for the toddlers but can be very uncomfortable for those under two. Don't waste your money on those park strollers. For 15-20 dollars you can buy an umbrella strolller.

Thanks for your input. I was leaning towards getting a collapsible, and I'm going to start looking now! I do seem to remember the rentals being a bit large, and since they all look the same it must be a pain to try to find yours in the sea of strollers! I was a bit concerned with being able to easily collapse them with all the baby gear and getting on and off transportation quickly. It seems worth it, though. Plus, if you do anything outside the parks you're stuck without one.

Just watch out for ankles with that stroller - I may be 6' 1" but seem to be invisible to people with strollers. My ankles and feet always come out of Fantasyland mauled... At least the smaller ones like you are considering cause little damage compared to those huge double-wide ones or the out-of-control scooters!

I'm almost always pushing a stroller around and yet I am still hit from behind by other strollers. Everyone is in such a hurry only to stand and wait in line for another attraction. Hey where is the freakin fire Slow down a bit.

The rental strollers are not cushioned. They are hard plastic, so I recommend taking your own. That way your little one will be comfortable enough to nap.
