Tell him he has to bulk up a bit and then he'll have some built in insulation ;) Although he might not like dragging around a few extra pounds on the marathon portion of the trip
I'm not sure why they don't keep the tank a bit warmer? When we dove in the Keys, the water was 82, perfect! :D I wonder if we could request a long suit? I will have to look into that!

I wonder if the cooler water may have anything to do with extending the life of the fish to the longest life possible? Longer the life of the fish, less turn-over, thereby keeping the costs low and maximizing the ROI on the fish assets.

I wonder if that is the case? It would stand to reason that warmer water would grow more bacteria, but there must be some optimal temp for the fish because you wouldn't want them chilled and having to pause and sneeze while swimming every few feet.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and spent some of the happiest days of my life standing waist deep in 35-40 degree water, fishing. Fish dig cold water.

Does that apply to tropical fish too, M-dude?

So many interesting questions to ask, but nobody to answer them...

Tropical fish will be quite happy in a tank at 72 degrees, marines need it a bit warmer and more brackish.

Yeah, that's true. I keep my tank right around 70 - 72 degrees for my tropicals, and they flourish quite well.

My cats know better!
Besides, I have a pretty solid lid on the tank. They couldn't get in if they tried.

Is like other reality TV shows? Do the cats get to vote which "contestant" gets to leave the tank?

My tropical tank is around 74. They do well. But looks like I have a question for them the next time we do Dive Quest!!!
