New fireworks for Magic Kingdom - to include the 360 degree effects
Longer hours for AK
Sounds like Summer concerts

This is a lot of neat, new stuff that is reported to only run for the summer. I just gotta get there!!

Night hours for the AK? COOL!!

We normally stay away from any kind of outside activities in the summer, but I think we'll make an exception this year. I really want to see the new fireworks, I was getting tired of Wishes.

Of course, plenty of people will be complaining that Wishes is not running. I enjoy the change, but then miss something that I really liked. Many were upset when Wishes replaced Fantasy in the Sky - so there is always hope that the next generation will improve on the previous.

It's not the fireworks part I mind, it's the inane soundtrack. I really, really, really hate the whole "wishes come true if you want them bad enough" schlock.

I will miss SpectroMagic, however. It's one of my all-time favorite shows.

There is a lot of good stuff going on this summer. The only thing that I am really not a huge fan of is MSEP. I am a huge Spectro fan.

So far, here is the partial schedule for Sounds like Summer:
June 12 – 19 — Stayin’ Alive (Bee Gees)
July 4 – 10 — Satisfaction (Rolling Stones)
July 18 – 24 — 2U (U2)

Seems like this is a good summer to go. No big celebration but so many new things to see.

Hoping they have it going when we are there in June. We will be there for the last SWW. Not sure where we are staying yet.

From what I have read, Nightastic will start June 6th. You should be good. What a trip - SWW & the Nightastic extras. Great summer to be at Disney.

I would love to squeeze in a trip this summer to see all the cool stuff. I loved the one night we were able to go to AKL, it was November and the park was empty. Fun just to shoot photos.

Now another event has been announced. Rock n Glow concerts in front of Rock n Roller Coaster. This just keeps shouting at me for a summer trip.

Wow, that sounds great! Too bad my next trip looks like it will be in September.

I cant wait! This is going to be a great summer.

Does anyone know if this is a normal thing for the summer or are they just anticipating larger crowds and want to keep another gate open to keep the crowds manageable? I thought they closed early to take care of the animals.

This is a special promotion for this summer. Something similar was done last year at DisneyLand. Not sure how late the safari will run, so don't count on the longer hours helping there. That is a problem with AK. Once the animals are in, it is not as full of a park. Still have Everest, Nemo, Lion King, Dinoland, Dinosaur, and Tought to be a Bug, as well as wandering around.
