4 Girls 1 World! - Sept 23-27th 2009 Trip Report

Post by disneylizzy » Aug Wed 26, 2009 12:38 pm

I'm going on a trip w/ my three best friends starting Sept 23rd...only about a month to go.

I'm kind of new to these boards and haven't ever posted a trip report, but I'll give it a shot.

The Characters: Aurora (me), Belle, Jasmine and Ariel - 4 women all in our late twenties.

Jasmine has never been to WDW and Ariel hasn't been in about 15 years. I'm the resident Disney lover and Belle likes Disney a lot too, but probably nowhere near my unhealthy obsession! :D

Our tickets - I'm an Annual Passholder so I'll be using my pass for entry.
Ariel, Belle and Jasmine have 3-day Magic Your Way passes w/o the Park Hopper Option...we decided to do this for cost reasons mostly, but also since we have such a short time for the trip, we thought 1 park each day would be enough.

We also have tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for Sept 25th.

Where we're staying - We're staying in 2 standard rooms at the beautiful Caribbean Beach Resort. I'm using a passholder discount for my room and the other is full price w/ the free dining deal.

I've stayed there before, and this time we've requested the Jamaica village - we're not using the busses and think the quieter village will be nice...plus I love the blue and yellow colors of those buildings!!

Dining plans - We're all on the Disney Dining Plan - regular version.

Here are our ADR's:
Sept 23 - O'hana dinner
Sept 24 - Restaurant Marrakesh dinner
Sept 25 - The Wave dinner
Sept 26 - Boma dinner

More on our plans later!!

I followed your advice!

Thanks everyone for tuning in...I honestly didn't know if anyone would want to read about my trip, so this is really encouraging!

I see it only on this post. You should make sure you incoroparate it as a part of your signature. Click profile and paste the [IMG] link in the signature box.

Sounds like a great vacation you have planned. I definitely like that O'Hana dinner ADR for your arrival. It is a great all you can eat. Just watch out for those Sticky wings. They will get you!

So here's our rough plans for the first day "on property"

Day One, Sept 23

- Tink (that's me) drives from Sarasota, FL to Orlando MCO Airport in the Tinkerbell Taxi (aka Honda Accord with disney stickers on it) to pick up the girls who all had early flights and will arrive around 11 am

Everyone is flying in on the same flight - which took a lot of tricky maneuvering from me and the airtran.com website btw! So I'll just pick them up in the terminal. One little glitch is that I'm not sure where the MCO Airport is yet, I'll have to do a test run next time I'm at the World.

I've told the girls not to pack too heavy b/c we'll have 4 suitcases and groceries/supplies for our rooms all in the trunk of my little honda accord...we'll see how this works out or if girls will have to hold their luggage on their laps!!

- We all head to the CBR and see if we can check into our rooms

Image

*crosses fingers* I hope our rooms are ready for check-in around 12-1pm which is probably when we'll arrive.

- Hit the pool and work on our tans

Now the fun starts!!! We'll change into our bathingsuits, slap on some sunscreen and hit that fabulous CBR pool. I can't wait to try the waterslides!!

Image

- Lunch at Old Port Royale

We'll probably just grab a bite to eat at the CBR food court. It's kinda cute in there like a Caribbean market, so that's fun.

- Grab drinks at Tambu Lounge & Watch fireworks from Poly beach

I'm looking forward to this almost as much as anything else. I can't wait to sit there with a tropicaly drink in my hand and watch Wishes from the Poly beach! Paradise!!

Image

- Dinner at O'hana

Our ADR is for 8:30, I hope that gives us enough time to watch most of the fireworks and head back into the Great Ceremonial House for check-in.

I am soo looking forward to introducing my friends to dumplings, chicken wings, shrimp and oh yes, bread pudding at O'hana. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! I know I look small, but folks I can really put away some food....especially that bread pudding!

- Maybe minigolf at Winter Summerland

If we can move after our feast at O'hana, we might go do some minigolf at the Winter Summerland course. That is, if I can find it...that little course always seems so hard to find!

And after all that we'll head back to the CBR and talk until the wee hours, um, I mean get a good nights rest before hitting the parks the next day!

Sounds like you have a plan. I would recommend Wispering Canyons at the Wilderness Lodge for a meal, we ate there in May and it was a hoot!!!

Day 2 – Thursday Sept 24th, Epcot!

Yay! Day 2 is our first day to hit the parks and really start our trip. We will be visiting Epcot.

We don't have a detailed touring plan for the parks, so we'll probably just go with what we feel at the time – hitting a few “must do’s.â€

Impressions de France is a must-do. The music is beautiful and the scenic shots of France are amazing.

I agree - Impressions is also a nice rest in an airconditioned area, so we'll probably hit it!

Day 3 Plans

Post by disneylizzy » Sep Sun 20, 2009 11:03 am

We're only about 3 days away from our trip, so I figure I'd better update the pre-trip report w/ the rest of our plans.

Day 3 – Friday Sept 25th, Magic Kingdom and MNSSHP!

So first things first, we’ll be going to MK today. I figure that the park will be less crowded that day b/c of MNSSHP – people who aren’t going to the party probably don’t want to spend the day there b/c it closes at 7pm and people who are going to the party probably want to park hop that day…or at least, that’s what I’m hoping!

Get up in time for rope drop

This might be pushing it depending on how much we like the new tequila bar in Mexico, but I’m hoping that we can do rope drop at MK. I really love the welcome show – “a castle leads the entrance way to 7 lands and more!â€
