Sorry if someone else has already started a thread on this topic...

Is anyone planning on going to the D23 Expo next month?

I will be in town, but for the Haunted Mansion 40th instead.......Although I am thinking about going now that I saw this:

I SOOOOOOO want to be there for these announcements.

I would have liked to try to be there for the 40th anniversary of my favorite attraction, but with limited time off, I had to make a choice. We won't be able to go for the whole time, but just to be there will be amazing! (unfortunately, we will miss the Legends ceremony :( )

you should rejoice today then, considering TODAY is the actual 40th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion. The one I am going to is the marketing one.

Yes it is today! I didn't think about the date...thanks for reminding me! I'll have to listen to my CD when I get home today.

I knew about the "marketing" one, but since we could only get away for 1 extra day, I knew we wouldn't make it...oh well, I think the expo is going to be amazing!

EDIT: Is it the 5th or the 9th?

Wow, thanks Dr. for posting the agenda. Sounds great, wish I could be on the west coast for that! I am soooo jealous that you are going to the HM 40th - that's great! You'll have to give us a rundown and your assessment.

As for the D23 expo, I'd be curious to see if there is a Q&A session and if anyone brings up the rumored WDW Fantasyland expansion since the other expansions are on the list of topics.

oops, yeah your right it is the 9th......I was looking at several dates all at once. My bad, well better to celebrate twice then not at all.

It is annoying that I am flying out on Saturday if i could stick around on that day and leave on Sunday I could go and see all the Park info, but alas I fly out at 11am. I wonder if i can call Southwest and get that changed this close to the date?

I might go but I am not sure if I want to bleed out all my money to disney right now considering they raised ticket prices =/ :|

Ooh, someone should definitely go! I want full reports on D23 Expo and the Haunted Mansion 40th celebration.

I've got time to go now (no more work for me as of August 29th), but then again, no more funding...such is the life of the unemployed.

Well if you guys want to pay for one or more nights hotel stay for me I am willing to stay for the bit longer. I am willing to do it, I have to be back at work by Monday due to someone else being on vacation.

No, but I've been following the AllEars & Lou Mongello updates on twitter.

So far there hasn't been a whole lot in the way of surprises. They had a model of Cars Land at California Adventure out, and said it will be opening 2012. Iger said he's considering Captain EO, but nothing definite. Positive feedback from the first 30 minutes of Princess & the Frog. The Disney Legends induction was yesterday also, and people said Betty White & Robin Williams brought the house down.
