Free Dining Extended Through the Middle of December

For anyone on the fence about a trip this fall-winter, free dining has been extended through stays that begin on December 17th. Details http://www.mousemisers.com/2009/fall-20 ... ey-dining/

We already had a reservation booked at Caribbean Beach with tickets and dining, and getting the free dining applied was as simple as calling them up. No need to cancel the reservation and rebook (as I feared we might have to do.) It couldn't have been any easier!

You can't get this if you're on DVC, can you?

That's good news. I hope they'll bring it back for the "value season" in January.

I don't believe that DVC members making a reservation using their DVC points are eligible for the free dining packages. But if I am wrong, that would be awesome. I am already booked for 10/3 - 10/13 @ SSR and have added the Deluxe Dining to my reservation. I guess that I can cross my fingers.

rknrlrcstr, you are correct. Unfortunately for DVC members, the free dining is not available. They already have our money so no need to put any incentives in place I guess.

I wonder how this works if we have annual passes? We plan on going again the first weekend of December, it would be cool if there was some kind of a deal!

As far as I know, you just would have to compare the resort AP rate to the savings you would have with the Free Dining Plan. You need to pay rack rate to qualify for Free Dining.

We have APs and still do free dining. You book your free dining package with a 1 day park ticket. We just hang onto the single tickets for future trips.

99Soulz, it is unfortunate that they don't offer more incentives to DVC Members and AP holders. You are right that they already have our money and "commitment" with our membership. However on the other side of the coin, we and the AP holders are the ones more likely to return and make the trip to WDW because of what we possess. It would be nice for them to "reward" their repeat customers.

An AP holder would need to do as timekeeper said and book the "rack rate <sic>" package with a 1 day base ticket in order to get the deal (thereby pumping another $80+ per person into Disney). And all that for loyalty?

I know that DVC Members and AP holders can get the Tables in Wonderland, which can be beneficial if used correctly, but why can't they offer us maybe a free upgrade on a dining plan, or a 10% discount on the dining plan. It might make some members choose to go to WDW instead of taking a "staycation" using their points.

I don't know. I am probably babbling nonsense, I just think that it would be nice for Disney to show some loyalty to their loyal guests.

I sure hope they have this promotion during our stay next year (am planning for 2010 - I am hoping to put together a trip for 10 of us arrriving on Sunday 11/29 and departing 12/4). I was going to rent points for BWV boardwalk view but may have to reconsider if a DDP promotion is in the works. Would be nice to get a 40% off code PLUS free dining :) But have to decide before the end of January if I want to rent points.
