YEA! I'm getting a bonus day at WDW

There probably isn't anywhere else in the world where I can share this news with fellow Mouseketeers. To the average person, it's not newsworthy.

However, April 6-10 is Spring Break for our kids. My DW and kids usually go to Florida and spend it with her family. I usually stay behind and work while my DW sends me pictures of the kids at the park, at the beach, at a museum, etc.

On a whim, I suggested that I would fly down and help my wife with the drive home (translated - I'll drive the whole way while she sleeps). I really don't mind. But I suggested coming down a day early and maybe going to WDW. We still have several days left on our passes and I said it wouldn't cost us anything to go and maybe the in-laws would join us. MY DW THOUGHT IT WAS A WONDERFUL IDEA!!!!! So, we are going to spend a day at MK on April 10th!

Now all I need to do is find a room preferably on property. I'm flying in late. Does anyone know if the Disney's Magical Express service operates on later flights? I won't have transportation until the next morning and I don't want to pay for a cab from MCO to WDW.

I believe it operates as late or early as you need it. When you make your reservations you tell them you will be using it and what time your flight is.

They operate on late flights. I've flown in after midnight twice.

Thanks. That's what I figured but since I wasn't going to be arriving in Orlando until probaby around 9:00 or later I wanted to make sure. Might as well take advantage of it while I can.

Isn't DME operated by Mears? I am sure they would not leave you stranded at the airport.

As far as I know, the DME will pick you up when you need it. You just have to give them your flight info!!! Yes, DME is operated by Mears. They were once short on the Disney buses and sent a plain ol' Mears shuttle. We were crushed! No video! No Disney music. *sigh*

I wish I had to figure out how I was getting from the airport to WDW! Another lucky dog. Have fun!!

I'd ask you to stick me in your luggage, but you'd need a steamer trunk!

Well, I have been working out lately. And you are less than 2 hours from me. You could hop on 27 and head south. If you can fit in the overhead bin we might work something out. Going through the x-ray scanner might be a little dicey . . . .

My flight leaves around 5:00. I will hopefully be at the resort by 8:00!!!

Now all I have to do is explain to my DW why I was gone for a few days and how I got the tan. Did you say over CARGO bin?

A couple of years ago, I was able to fit myself in a suitcase. If only I was a couple years younger and a few inches shorter.

As for Magical Express, I am pretty sure it operates 24/7 being international flights can come in at any hour.

DME operates for late flights, just remember to get you luggage at the baggage claim, it won't make to your room if you land late and they handle it

Got my DME setup and just got my luggage tag in the mail today. My DW asked what it was not thinking about the kids being in the room.

She felt my LOOK!

UPDATE: I just got a text message from my wife that my in-laws WILL be joining us for our one-day excursion!!! This may be the only time that they will have to enjoy WDW with their grandchildren.

Plus, they like to pay for everything. I guess I'll let them!!

I am hearing that the parks have been shutting down intermittently so make sure you get to the parks ultra early, and get ready for capacity crowds. Oh and the parking lots are filling up so much that they closed MGM's (always MGM not going to change my mind) at 10am or so according to StudiosCentral.com.
