Disney Trip Planned for Wife's Birthday In March!!

The time is coming fast! My wife and I are spending March 1st through the 8th for her birthday! We registered with Disney for her birthday and wow did they send her a bunch of cools stuff. They sent her two lanards and a booklet with several discount coupons.

We also are using that deal where you pay for 3 days you get four free. With this deal they are also giving us a $200 gift card for food. I don't know how much this will actually cover but we don't ever eat at any of the expensive places to eat.

I'm a little worried because one of the things my wife is excited about is we also have tickets to Blizzard Beach and we've never been. Mostly because I don't do water parks. I don't swim very well and I'm terrified of drowning. I got to the beach all the time but I'm actually worried about the water park.

We also are thinking about checking out one of the mini golf places.

So I'm not only excited and want to share with you, but I'm waiting for some of you to tell me that I WILL have a good time in Blizzard Beach.

How exciting!!! I hope we will get a trip report and pictures when you return! What a wonderful birthday gift for you wife!

It's been a number of year since I've been to the water parks, but we've been to Typhoon Lagoon and LOVED it! Are you afraid of water or not a good swimmer? Just wondering why you're not so sure about the water parks. If you're not a good swimmer, not to worry, the slides usually go into pools that are shallow! I'm sure you'll have a good time. I remember Typhoon Lagoon being cool b/c they have a small area that you can snorkle. 8-)

We've been mini golfing too and LOVED it! I would highly recommend that. We went to Fantasia Gardens and went later in the evening and were able to see some of the fireworks from Fantasmic! Would definitely go back again!

Have a great trip! :D

Thanks for the info. The mini golf at night is a great idea. As far as a little worried about the water parks its because I'm not that great of a swimmer and to be honest. I'm really shy. And I'm worried about going down a water slide in front of hundreds of people.

But if you're sure the pools are not that deep then maybe I won't have to worry too much.

I'm know you'd be able to find out how deep the pools are that the slides empty out into. You're usually able to stand up and it's waist deep. I would scope the slides out before you go down them! Perhaps avoid the really steep fast ones until you're comfortable! Those are usually the ones where your suit becomes lodged in uncomfortable areas!!!

I know you'll have a wonderful time! :D

I too am a bad swimmer and have never been to the water parks. I am pretty sure they have the depths listed for everything and there are a lot of lifeguards on duty. Have a great trip and I can't wait to see pictures and read the trip report!

The last time I was at Blizzard Beach was years ago (when I was 13 or 14), but I remember being able to stand in most of the water and have my head still above water. If all else fails, just jump in the lazy river - I could stay there all day!

Most of the pools are only a little over 4 feet deep. I don't think should worry about it.
