I will be in Disney World during thanksgiving and I am wondering if anybody has any suggestions on what day to go to what park. I heard that the parks get busy on thanksgiving wekeend, but what about thanksgiving day and black friday? Does downtown Disney get busy?

from what I understand, Thanksgiving day through the weekend is almost as bad as visiting during Christmas week. all the kids are off school, and the parks are the busiest they are all year. DTD will probably be as bad as the parks on Black Friday, especially if any of the stores are holding sales.

as for best park to go to, I recommend viewing Touring Plans.com. they're currently having website problems, so Thansgiving isn't viewable yet. but, once they get the site back up and running, it'll tell you which parks to avoid and which may be the best as far as attendance goes.

A friend of mine is taking their family of 5 on the 23rd and staying until Dec 3rd. I'm so jealous! :!:

I'm glad I read this one. We were planning on visiting Thanksgiving week with a four night cruise. I think that the week before or after may be better. We'll see.

WDW Today always suggests doing Epcot on holidays, and other days where large crowds are expected, due to its larger size and distribution of guests.

AK can fit the other 3 parks inside of it, with room to spare. Epcot may have more to do in it, but as far as swallowing crowds, AK does it best.

However EPCOT is also open longer hours during the winter holidays so I think that EPCOT would still be the best park to visit when large crowds are expected. And when you say AK can fit the other 3 parks inside it, doesn't that include Safaris which isn't really part of a normal area where guests can visit unless they are on the ride, which also closes at dusk anyway.

Also, don't think about just square footage, think about attractions in that spot. You have your 5-6 big ones in AK that would probably get swamped, at least in Epcot there's more rides for people to even out a little bit more.

Also remember EPCOT has alot more restaurants and shops as well.
