Trip report from 10/24-10/27

I am leaving in a few hours to head up to the All- Star Movie Resort. As soon as I get back I will fill everyone in on my trip. There are sure to eb some great pics!

That's wonderful, have a great trip! I'm sure I speak for everyone, we'd like to see lotsa pictures and hear about your trip!!!

The trip was a blast guys! I just drove back into work and as soon as I am home will put the pics up. besides the ALL Star Movie resort being horrible it was a great trip!

Oh no! I hope you share why you think All Star Movies was horrible - I can't wait to hear about the trip and see the pictures though! Hi everyone. Well this has been a horrible week. My fiance's grandfather passed away yesterday and everything has been hectic. The funeral is Sunday. That night I will finally be able to post some pics, wirte my complaint letter to WDW, and share my wonderful trip with everyone. Talk to you real soon.

Ok, well tomorrow morning is the funeral, I can't sleep, and I am in a typing mood. So here is how the trip starts. When I booked the trip, we told WDW it was for our honeymoon. Sicne my other grandmother has ben very sick we had a mock weddinng for her to be involved with sicne the real one is set for January. My grandfather told us to take a honeymoon so she thought it was real and we were to show her pics and the works. We got so into it we really treated like a honeymoon, as you will see in our pics. We were told when we made reservations at the All-Star Movie resort, that we would have a king bed in our room. When we got there no King, they apologized, btu that was it. They said by the next night we would have one. For almost 3 years now we had never slept apart, so this was wierd for us. (i am too big to share a bed 
). Once we were settled in we went to DTD. Since I get a discount at WWD, we did most of our shopping there. The big problem I had was, not only was the cashier rude when I showed him my Disney Visa for a discount, he did not put everything we bought into the bags! We noticed this once we were at the bus stop and WWD was closed. I went to the front desk at the hotel and was told to check the gieft shop in the morning. This would not work. We were waking up early to get to DHS extra hours just to go on TSM, and then straight to Epcot. This was day one...a most forgetable honeymoon so far.
Day one at parks.
Woke up on a rainymorning and drove ourselves to DHS. Waited in the rain for 10 min before they let us in and straight to TSM. We loved it!!!! My score was huge, only 300 off from the record of al the people that went before us that morning. It really was much better than I thought and was a good workout. I could not believe how accurate the guns shot.
We left DHS right after TSM and headed to the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.
We got there before teh park opened. This was a first for me in my 27 years of going to WDW. Two park openings in one day! We went straight to Soarin' and had our first surprise of the day, since we had wedding ears on a manager gave us passes to get right on! We went and got fastpasses so we can go on again later, and then we were off! After our flight we took a cruise through the Land. The girl sitting in front of us I had known since kindergarten! It was funny. Her husband is an Imagineer, and was working on the new Kim Possilbe experience in the world showcase. After The Land, it was back to Soarin'. Flying to Cali twice in one hour!
Now off to the Seas with Nemo and Friends! and into a BIIIIGGGG BLUUEEE WORLD!!!!
We sped over to TT after and were given 4 FP for it. We only used 2 to get on once since we had such busy day waiting. On to SE! I still feel the ending is great. Yes there is nothing to look at outside your timemachine...but that's the point! Look at the screen and the video. Once again we laughed hysterically at our future video. I do however feel that the African-American woman is the most stereotypical figure they have ever made and it is painful to look at.
Well, i jsut realized how detailed I was getting at...so I'm gonna make it all shorter now....Did the tasing arounnd WS and it was great. Had lots of new foods and enjoyed 99% of it. FOr the first tiem in my life I left BEFORE IlluniNATIONs. I had a surprise for my "new bride", and I took her to Animal Kingdom Lodge to look for animals in Night vision and to show ehr one of the "better" resorts. I even took a few pics with my camera through the nightvision scope It was amazing!
Back to ASMovieR. This was the biggest disaster of the night.. A BIGGIE!!!! Now this is our 3rd stay in an Allstar(been to all 3 now) and We have had problems with all of them. First of all, they did not have the king room that they said they would. And the did not have the objects we bought and never received in our bags. They refund the money, btu that was besides the point. She really wanted what she bought and we had no time to go back to DTD and go shopping again. Now here was the biggest problem.. As I got out of the shower and reached for a towel to dry off with I saw the most disturbing thing ever... A BLOODY STAINED TOWEL!!! I freaked out!!! I called the desk and was told a housekeeping manager would be by soon. 20 min later I called and asked for the guy I spoke with and he refused to pick up and transfered me to a recording. I called again and spoke to the night manager a the desk, and asked if I wanted clean towels sent to me. ARE YOU KIDDING!!! I was abotu to march to the lobby with th towel waving when the phone rang again. There is only 1 nigth manager on duty for all 3 all-stars, and he was busy, but would call me when he was coming by. Mind you it was now 12:30 and all this started at 11:00. When he finally came by we also noticed a legion of ants all over our door and entering our room. My blood was begning to boil over now. I told the manager I could have spent 1/2 the money and slept at a Motel 6 for this treatment. He apologized, was visibly shaken when he saw the towel and asked if he could comp that one night. I told him of all the problems and he said that's all he could do, but write a letter to Disney, and if that wasn't our last real night being there he would have moved us to a deluxe resort.(the next night we were going to MNSSHP and left early monday morning, so it wasnt worth all the time and hassle to move). I gave up argueing and went to sleep, we had early breakfast reservations at Cape May Cafe.
Breakfast was great, then we did Fantasia gardens Mini Golf. We had an awesome time. Over to MNSSHP. It was awesome. Over 10 lbs of candy, went on almost evey ride, including the raceway which I hadn't done in over 10 years and now rememebr why! Had an amazing time there over all, and If I wasn't so tired I would type more. The villians last show was cancelled, but they all came out for pics! Even Meleficant which you never get to see!! Ok, enough reading, now enjoy some more pics!

When I screamed "Hey Foulfellow" He turned and pointed at me! Probably doesn't hear hisame so much.
We saw this couple a few times, but I finally had to take a pic of them with Jafar..see why?

Awesome pics. yodiwan! YIKES about your resort, thank goodness DH and I decided to switch. We were going to stay at a value but we were able to go a week later and now are splitting our stay between POFQ and we managed to sneak the Poly in there for two nights!!!
I really hope everything goes o.k. (or as well as can be expected) for you and your family today. You're in my thoughts and prayers!!!

These are all amazing pictures! The commentary was pretty amusing as well. I hope everything goes well with everyone and remember that you can take as long a break as you need.

Great commentary and awesome pictures. Unfortunately, I am not that surprised that you had a not so good experience with soiled linens. It even happens at the Deluxe resorts unfortunately. Also, I never heard of one manager on duty for three hotels. There should always be a manager on duty for the front desk.

Great pictures! Sorry about your experience at All Stars. This isn't the first time I have read horror stories about the value resorts. We have only gone moderate but I wanted to stay at Pop for our next trip. We do spend time at the resort using the pool and I would miss the water slide for my son.

Other than the hotel experience (stained towel = DISGUSTING), it sounds like you had a great trip! After hearing everyone's MNSSHP stories/experiences, I could really kick myself for not doing it this year.
If you end up writing the letter to Disney, I'd like to hear how it turns out. I've never had to complain past the front desk, so I'd like to hear how they respond to such a mistreatment.
