Cape May Cafe vs. Garden Grove

SO, I have reservations for breakfast at Cape May Cafe Sunday morning, but I was told Garden Grove at the Swan is a walk in charcter breakfast. Can I get some feed back from everyone? Thanks. Oh, and just to let everyone know. All other breakfasts outside the parks were full, so These were the only options.

Yeah, not only have I been there as a quest"dresed as a cow", but I worked it a bunch of nights when I was a CP. I actually met oen of my old girlfiends when working it!!! It is one of my favorite times to go.

hahaa, you definitely seemed to stump us on this one.

I've only been to Cape May Cafe (many times) but not Garden Grove so would be unfair of me to compare. I will tell you though that Cape May Cafe is a staple for us when we are down there. We typically eat dinner there which is a clam bake theme (which unfortunately is of no help to you since you are looking at breakfast).

We are yet another one of the subsonic listeners from New Jersey and frequent the actual Cape May, NJ itself often and in fact is where I proposed to my wife some 6 years ago so we tend to draw to that resort out of comfort (also DVC members so try to stay there if possible). The buffet is pretty large and also has a kiddie-size buffet for little ones - also have cray-paper tablecloths and crayons to keep everyone busy while eating as well.

Not sure if certain characters are a better draw for you (Minnie, Goofy, and Donald are at CMC, while Pluto and Goofy are at GG)?

We are heading back down for Thanksgiving week and booked Cape May for breakfast and dinner I think so that should tell you what we think of it. We also eat at Canada, Liberty Tree Tavern, Ohana, Kona Cafe to get a sampling of the kinds of places we like to compare with to see if our tastes match.

For my money it's Cape May. I've never had breakfast at either but I have gone to the buffet dinner at CM. I just prefer the atmosphere there. It's a Disney hotel and the Swan isn't. The Swan is more generic. Cape May has personality. Just my opinion.

I have been to both, but I was at Garden Groove years ago. I ate at Cape May this past July, and had a blast with the characters. Goofy and I even got into trouble for having TOO much fun...(he started it!) The food was excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Our server As for Garden Groove, it may have been a few years ago, but it was nothing spectacular... hence the reason I barely remember it!

Where I have never eaten at Garden Grove, I would still recommend Cape May because it's owned by Disney. I've heard from several different people that the general experience at the Swan and Dolphin is completely different because it's not operated by Disney employees.

So my advice: stick with what you know will be good (Disney of course!). And hey, if you end up at Garden Grove, it still may be fun!

I also fall into the group that has not eaten at the Garden Grove but have eaten at Cape May multiple times for breakfast and dinner. I would not hesitate to recommend the Cape May to anyone. I can't say that it is on our "must do" list each trip but it is a close runner up.

How about 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. We had an awesome character dinner there this past July. They are on the monorail line...Grand Floridian.

i ate at 1900 last time, and there were no slots available for sunday morning. Thanks everyone. TO be honest when I was younger my family always stayed at the Dolphin and we always had an amazing time. For my Bar-mitzvah my grandparents even took me to the diner they ahve there and we had the kitchen sink sundae! It was the best!

The Kitchen Sink can be found at Beaches and Cream in the Beach Club Resort, not the Dolphin.
