Hi all! We're in the midst of working out our dining plans for January, and can't seem to make up our minds with this one. We've never done a character breakfast, and would like to hit one the morning we are scheduled to leave. It would have to be at one of the resorts, since we won't be park hopping that day. A lot of them sound really good! We are scheduled to eat at Chef Mickey's for dinner one night, but thought of switching to breakfast instead. We also wanted to try O'Hana's, but the menu seems a little lackluster (?) What are your faves??? We'll have a car, so traveling won't be an issue.

Our favorite had to be Chef Mickey's. We do it everytime we go. You might also try 1900 Park Fare. Its at the Grand Floridian. I haven't been to it but it sounds like it would be nice. They have different characters there; Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, the Mad Hatter, and I think Mary Poppins.

my favorite is also chef mickey's. 1900 park fare is good too but i like chef mickeys better. Ohana is ok but the others are better.

To be faire, we've only done Chef Mickey's and Cape May's, but Cape May's only had 4 characters when we were there (Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale). That, and it wasn't too busy (we did breakfast) and the character's didn't come to us much (likely because we got sat in a far corner of the restaurant -- which if weren't a character meal would have been great).

Chef Micke's, though hectic and chaotic and mostly busy seemed to have more characters who were able to spend more time with you.

And honestly, I don't find significant difference in the buffets.

I'm sold! Chef Mickey's it IS for breakfast! Now...to decide where to do dinner with the extra table service!

I prefer Cape May Cafe by a lot. I found the food to be a lot better at Cape May than at Chef Mickey. Secondly, the characters were a lot more personable. Okay, so they don't have as many as Chef Mickey, but they will spend time with you and make you laugh. I have to say I had the time of my life there when I was there two and a half weeks ago. The characters came over multiple times to our table throughout the meal. Goofy even clowned around with us reenacting scenes from Spiderman, and old western shoot outs. He balanced a tray on his nose, and was even trying to climb into a high chair. I decided to give the high chair a try and somehow got myself partially in it.

If you have an extra table service, I would see if Le Cellier is open. If not then I would say Kona Cafe for food, or Prime Time Cafe for the amazing experience you will have.

We don't have any reserved for the Studios, so maybe we'll have to give Prime Time a try.

I had a late lunch/early dinner at prime time in May, and it was our worst meal of the trip. I felt the portions were very small and not worth thr price at all. The waiting area, is very hot, some table are next to windows which make them hot, and at least the waiter I had was very boring. We went for the "family" experience, but we had an absolute horrible time. The only good part was the smores dessert. The staff only seemed to reallt interact with large parties, and this was with them KNOWING we were celebrating an anniversary there. If you are eating at DHS go anywhere but there. After working at WDW, and being a regular at the parks for ny entire life I would have to say it is my least favorite place EVER, and would neve go back again.

I have nothing but fun there. I ate the chicken and the portion was fine. There was no issue with the size of it. The temperature in the restaurant was fine and I had no issue with the waiting area even though I was sitting on top of a window. We were a party of 4 and the servers had a blast with us. All you have to do is show that you are there to have fun. I would say keep putting the elbows on the table.

I have done all the character meals, except for Cape May, and our favorite at WDW is 1900 Parkfare, but our favorite character meal ever is not at WDW, but rather at DL. Minnie's Breakfast at the Plaza Inn is amazing, there are so many characters, including unique ones. THe food is good, but hey we are not there for the food. We go back every trip to DL (we are annual passholders).

We liked 1900 Park Faire when we had dinner there a few years back. I have to check on which characters are there. Maybe we'll give it a go for dinner again. I, too, have heard mixed reviews of Prime Time, though it sounds like a good time.

Chef Mickey's was so much fun! We celebrated our son's 12th birthday there and had the time of our lives.

Our first-ever character breakfast was the O'Hana before they added Lilo and Stitch. We also loved this, and I would recommend it to anyone. The food was a little better at O'Hana, as it was brought directly to your table, whereas Chef Mickey's is a buffet.

Either way, you can't go wrong. We loved both Chef Mickey's and O'Hana, and we also really enjoyed breakfast in the castle at CRT. This past spring we went to the Princess Breakfast at Akershus at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot. It was also wonderful.

If I had to choose just one to do all over again, I would choose...

Well, I can't decide. They're all great!

We loved 1900 Park Fare! My son had a blast with the Step Mother and even danced with Drizella!

I like Chef Mickey's because of the "classic" characters, but I really liked the buffet at 1900 Park Fare!
