Anyone heading to WDW this December?

Post by mickster68 » Feb Thu 10, 2005 11:53 am

Just wondering. We are planning a trip from the 3rd-11th, 2005. I hear it's a great time to go since crowds are small and the holidays are in full swing. Has anyone been there at this time? Can you share your thoughts/experiences? Also, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party--worth it? We have 3 children, ages 18 mos, 5 and 6--thinking of getting tix (?)
Weather this time of year??? Thanks!

I've been there in the days affer Thanksgiving (which is basically same as when you're going). It is pretty empty and you get to see the holiday stuff.

"mickster68" - When went the week after Thanksgiving in 2001, the weather was sunny and beautiful. In the low-mid 80's everyday. Not a drop of rain. It was a great trip! I heard that weather of that sort is kinda unusual in December, though. I think we were just lucky.

As far as the MVMCP, yes you should go. We did and definately were glad that we went. Besides, who know's when you'll be going in December again? FYI the tickets for this event sell out pretty quick.

Enjoy planning your trip!

Dec. trip

That's great to hear. We were a little concerned about the weather and being able to swim, etc. I've heard it's unpredictable at that time, too, but that's okay-I'd rather have fewer crowds to contend with and the Christmas happenings are a real bonus! I keep calling WDW about the Christmas party and they are still telling me the dates have not been set. I've heard somewhere that they go on sale in May(?), and I don't want to miss out on getting them. I'm psyched!

My family and I went a few days before Christmass to two days after. Right before Christmass, no crowds. Chistmass day packed, but by the late evening hours every one started going home and the park was not closeing for acouple more hours. Mickey's Very Merry Christmass was a hit with every one there. Hot chocolate, cookies, a free family photo, snow. I was very suprised at how cold it gets in Florida. Well worth the money. We are planning to do the same thing again this year. Don't miss the Candel Lght Processional at Epcot. My wife loved it. The osborne Lights at MGM Studios is good too. They dates have been posted.
