Hi does anyone know what would happen if i bought an annual pass today online as a new passholder, could i start my first year in December this year which is the next time i will be at WDW? Also do you get free parking with the normal annual pass or is that ust with the premium pass? And ust one more question i promice If my pass runs out in late november 2009 and i visit the parks in september 2009 and i get my annual pass renewed. Will it run from the next time i use it or the time i renewed the pass. I would like to say a big thankyou to anyone that answers there queries . Have a magical day!!

If you buy an AP online, they will send you a voucher which will need to be exchanged for the actual AP when you get to WDW. Your pass will be good for one year once you exchange it at Guest Relations.

Yes, you get free parking at all the parks with the regular AP.

I don't believe I have ever renewed an AP, but I think it will be good from when you renew. Someone else can confirm or deny this.

In 2000, Walt Disney World changed the Annual Passholder renewal policy. The new policy states that your renewal Annual Pass becomes effective the day after your current Annual Pass expires. Previously, if you renewed by mail, you received a voucher which was not activated until you were at the theme park and traded your voucher in for a new Annual Pass. Now your renewal voucher exchange will be back dated to the expiration date of the previous pass.

Can you buy an annual pass if you live overseas? And even if i don't activate my AP until i visit in December can i still use it to access the AP site?

Yes you can use an exchange voucher to access the AP site. It's one of the options for setting up the login.

As ericpabear said, your first AP is good for 366 days (367 days if you turned it in after 1 March 2007, and before 28 Feb 2008) when you renew it renews from the end of the previous AP, and I'm pretty sure you have to do it with-in 30 days of the expire.

I bought my APs (when I had 'em) at the Disney Store when I was still living in Canada. They had to order the vouchers for me but it wasn't a big deal. That's not quite overseas, obviously, but I would think you'd still be able to get them at Disney Stores in the UK ... if you still have Disney Stores in the UK. I'm not sure about buying them online from outside of the US. I don't think there's any restriction on where you can live and still have an AP, though, if that's specifically your question.

No. If you order the voucher today, you do not redeem it for the actual AP until you get to WDW in December. The expiration clock will start ticking in December once you accomplish the redemption.

If you want the voucher now, I recommend that you photocopy it and the receipt in case of loss.

The reason i want to get it now is because in april & august Disney put up the prices of tickets so i want to get it before the price hike thanks for the info

Yea and the price hike is why as I recall the AP vouchers expire. Otherwise there is no reason not to buy 10 AP renewal vouchers today, if you can, and turn them in one a year for the next 10 years (that would be a huge savings based on the rate of increase.)

So there are 2 clocks, one on the AP Vouchers, and one on the AP it's self. The AP vouchers starts when they are issued (a few days after as far as I can tell, I've gotten AP vouchers which had an "issued date" a couple of days after I had them in my hand.) Once you turn them in your AP starts THAT day, and continues to THAT DAY a year later (366 days/367 days.)

So in the last 8 years the price has gone up about 4.25% per year, or ~40% increase from in 2008 from 2000. Which means if you project this out another 10 years (calling it 4% compound annually, slightly below the last 8 years.) the AP renewals in 2018 will be $604.
