Anti-Trip Report

I spent a few days in Paris last week and this was as close as I got to DLRP...

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g101/ ... /dlrp2.jpg

Not to mention the pink double decker buses decked out with Disney characters and mocking "35 minutes away" signage  . The first time I saw one of the buses, I started running after it without even realizing what I was doing (Disney nerd instinct I guess). After that, my friends had to make sure to hold me back when they saw a DLRP bus coming.

Has anyone else ever been "35 minutes away" from a Disney park, but not visited it? Sheer torture...

(Actually, I'm just joking. I'm kind of glad I didn't waste my time visiting DLRP on my first trip to Paris... but I will have to go back someday  )

edit... by the way, are there any French speakers here that can tell me what the sign says? Something about kids? :?:

There was also another one that said "12 ans", shouldn't it have said "15 ans"? :?

oh, i hate that torture, especially if i'm passing by amusement parks on the freeway. i always look over to stare at it, wishing i were there.

Ugh, I feel your pain. It's right there, taunting you, and it makes you just want to scream.

Aside from that, I hope you had a wonderful time in Paris! :)

Yeah, at least you had Paris as a consolation prize for being taunted by the park.

Literal translation of the sign in your picture is "Free for Children".

Right now DLRP are offering kids-go-free offers for holidays at DLRP, which is what the sign is saying.

I worked down the street from Disneyland for a while in the '90's and driving by the marquee every day was torture.
