Howdy all! My mom just offered to let us use their timeshare for our December '08 excursion to the World. This is awesome, right? So, I'm weighing the pros and cons of the offer, and I could really use your input! Major PRO: 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen and the works-situated on Disney property (the only non-Disney resort on property, I'm told). The resort sits between Caribbean Beach and Pop Century. PRO #2: FREE lodging!
Okay, there are many pros, sure. Here are a few CONS: 1: No use of Disney transportation, including Magical Express to and from the airport
2: No extra magic hours :( 3: No dining plan--not a real big deal.
I've heard that Bonnet Creek has a shuttle to go back and forth to the parks at $2.00 a trip! hmmm...
The cons are certainly not terrible. I guess I've become a little spoiled staying in the World for the last few years!
Has anyone ever stayed at Bonnet Creek or know anything about it? Any thoughts about the resort/transportation? My mom said we could walk from Bonnet Creek over to Caribbean Beach to catch Disney transportation, but I don't really know if I want to do that with 4 kids in tow-especially at the end of the night!
Thanks for your thoughts!

do they have a shuttle from the airport??? you should check into that...besides that, go for it!!! whatever you spend in shuttly money cant be more than you would have in paying for a hotel.

Not sure. I'm just about to do some sleuthing to find out more about this place. I'm with you, though, it would be at least 900.00 for a value resort for 9 nights. Shuttle service to and from would be worth the cost, for sure!

I've always been a fan of a rental car. Outside of Magic Kingdom, a vehicle is almost always easier. Yes you can construct plans which Disney Transport is better (MGM->Boardwalk->Epcot->MK, yea doing all that with a car is a pain even if at the end of the night you just want to get back to your car.)

It does cost $10 per day (which it sounds like 5 people at $2 per trip is $20/day.) Unless you are an AP holder :)

Thanks for your input! We thought about getting a car, too. I talked to someone at the resort this morning, who told me that they DO offer free shuttle service to and from the theme parks. The 2.00 fee is for parks other than Disney (Universal, Sea World). Shuttles run every 30 minutes. That works for me! We're in!!! :mickey:
