How many days for a newbie at DL/DCA?
For a new Disneyland visitor traveling during busy season how many days would you suggest to casually but fully tour both DCA and DL?

Casually but fully? Hmm. 4 days. To casually experience everything DCA has to offer, even in busy season, won't take more than 1 day, but DL has SO MUCH packed in its smaller-than-MK space that 3 days is what I would suggest for that park.
When we go, we usually go for 2-3 days, but we are neither newbs or casual (park commandos... HARCH!)

I think you could do it in 3 days, 1 for DCA and 2 for Disneyland. But, if it were me, I'd take 4 days and use the extra day for repeats and the 1 or 2 not-as-important ride you might have missed. This is what I planed from my recent WDW trip. A 5th day for revists. It worked out great.

Yah Spaulo is on the right track. Considering myself somewhat of a Disneyland expert being that I've been there ALOT since I've been born. (and yet 2 visit WDW)As a California native I'd say to save money and still have enough time for a great experience go three days. If you want the whole top-a-da-line experience then stay at The Grand Californian Resort Hotel. You gotta make reservations for that hotel way in advance though. Any of the Disney resort hotels is good for a Disneyland Family vacation. But if yer lookin to save money go for a close "Good Neighbor Hotel." The Good Neighbor Hotels are hotels that work with the Disneyland resort to make sure you have transportation to and from the park and these hotels should have the latests news on the park. My favorite choice of "Good Neighbor Hotel" is the Del Sol Inn. It is literally right across the street from the entrance of Disneyland. That makes it easy if you need to go back to your room for something. And don't forget about the Fast Passes!! They can be life savers to be able to fit in all those "E-Ticket" rides. Well, let me know if you have anymore questions.Casually but fully? Hmm. 4 days.
TOO MANY days in Disneyland. Never heard of such a thing!! LOL!!Five day would work too... I'd say 4 days is a minimum, but honestly, six would probably be too many.
I do stuff sometimes.

It depends on who is going with you. I've gone with just my husband and myself and we've gone with our young children. My husband and I went on our honeymoon and spent three days there. We had never been to California Adventure since it had opened and were able to see pretty much all of it in one day. We spent the other two days at Disneyland. With young children you have to take into account that you will be taking more breaks throughout the day and possibly returning to your hotel halfway through the day for naps...so I would say four or five days if you have young children. If it's just adults or if your kids are old enough to "keep up" three days is probably enough. Though, for me, personally, I'd like to go five days either way! I could never get enough Disneyland!

Reminds of the "How Long Before You Call a Girl" scene in Swingers. 2 is the standard, but 3 days is kind of money. How long do you wait? 6 days.spaulo wrote:Five day would work too... I'd say 4 days is a minimum, but honestly, six would probably be too many.
I find 5 days is the best to really get immersed in the experience, but you can do it in 3.

In my opinion 5 days is great! Especially if you have kids. It allows you to relax and enjoy the parks without the stress of feeling like you don't have enought time and will miss something. If you only go once a year or less I would do 5 so you can leave feeling like you have had a full disney experience.
