This is only the second day I have been on this site and I LOVE it!!! I have heard that Disney World sometimes offers the dining plan for free during slow seasons. I saw they are offering it for UK residents only on mousesavers.com. Has anyone heard if this is going to be offered to US residents anytime soon?

my local AAA office just had a grand re-opening (after building a new state-of-the-art center) this past weekend. they had a "Disney Day" on Saturday, which had a Disney Destinations rep who came and gave presentations on WDW, Disney Cruise Lines, and the newest product - Adventures by Disney. I asked about the free dining and the rep wasn't sure if it would be offered again. at least during the winter. It sounded (and also looked like it last year) that if it IS offered, it would start being offered in the spring and (possibly) be extended through the fall.

Thanks for the info. Just looking for the best way to entice my husband to make a trip down again. We have gone the past two years in May and I wanted to go at the begining of Jan. Will have to think of another angle.

This is the second year in a row that they are offering the free dining for Canadians (Late August-late Sept.2006 and 2007). We were planning the trip and planning to pay for the DPP but now we save $1600.00!!! I love the freedom the DPP gives us...free to indulge and just laugh when you get a bill for $153.88 at the end of a great meal (price for 4 of us at the Hoop-de-doo-Review)

I just booked for the last week in August and yes the dining plan is up. Staying at a value resort (Pop Century in my case), 6 days/5 nights with free dining is $455 per person (based on double occupancy of course)

How can you not go to Disney for a week at less than $100 per night?

BTW - it was an extra $40 per person to upgrade to parkhopper.

Even cooler about the dining plan is that you only have to buy a one-day ticket and you get the dining plan for each night you stay in the hotel. This works well for those of us with annual passes.

My family booked a September package for 9 nights. We made all reservations,immediately, for places we wanted. When we tried to change times or dates, we found that most popular restaurants were full. If you plan carefully and far in advance, you should be able to eat at most places.

We are going to Disney World in September and have the free dining plan. You had to book by June 26th and visit before September 22. I am very excited. We have never had the dining plan before. I have already made us reservations for the Princess breakfast at Norway, lunch at the Garden Grill (that is one of our favorites, by the way, we go there every time we are down), dinner at Cinderella's Castle, and breakfast at Hollywood and Vine with Jo Jo and the Little Einsteins. We wanted to get into the Hoop Dee Doo or Luau but they were already booked.

Absolutely LOVE the dining plan! And when its free its even better. It has really opened up options for those of us on a budget. We have tried restuarants that we never would have tried because we thought they were too expensive. Went to the LeCellier in EPCOT Canada and my meal alone would have been more expensive than the cost of the program if you purchased it. GREAT meal.
