Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Post by Adaugaga » Sep Fri 01, 2006 7:50 am

Has anyone ever gone to this event? If so, I'd love to hear about your experience. I've researched it a bit and based on the reviews I've read, I'm still undecided as to whether or not this is a MUST do with my kids (ages 2, 5, 8 and 10).

Thanks!

I went for my first time last year. I'd go during a not-so busy time of year and it's worth it. It's just a good time and you can do alot there. You may be interested in the podcast episode we did about it: http://www.wdwtoday.com/article.php?sto ... 4063456139

There will be a trip report afterwards.

I've done it the last two years in the second week of December and wouldn't miss it! The snow on Main Street, free cookies and cocoa, the parade, free family pictures (though we probably wouldn't wait for those again... they did take a while)... and best of all, the park has a lot less people in it! Two years ago right at the beginning of MVMCP I rode Big Thunder twice, by myself, sitting all the way in the back with no one else in the train!

Okay, you are all convincing me that this would be a good thing to experience. One question...In addition to the special MVMCP ticket, do I need to use a regular park ticket for admission?

Thanks for the information!

Only if you want to go into the park before the party starts that night (7pm I believe)... if you don't go in before then, you won't need to use regular park admission.

The only thing that dissappointed me about it last year was that a couple of days after I attended, they did the holiday parade, stage show, and the night before christmas state show in tomorrowland during regular hours. I started wondering what I spent all that money for, the cocoa and cookies? It's fun, but I am wondering it it's really worth the money?

We have and loved it . . . well worth the money. You might also want to make sure you go to MGM and see the Osborne Festival of Lights. No words can describe it - it's breathtaking and jaw-dropping! Just make sure you see it at night. It's part of the MGM decorations, back toward the backlot tour area and street sets. You also you don't need to purchase an extra ticket to get in to see it.

MVMCP is a highlight of any Christmas trip. It is definitely worth the price of admission. Christmas at Disney is an amazing experience - I'm very envious you get to go!
