Skipping Meals?

My wife does not want to get dressed up for dinner & we heard that there are options on deck...?

I thought the only way would be to order room service.

If you've skipped (we plan to go to Animator's for the ambiance...) and know where to go, I'd love to hear it!

You can have dinner at any resort resturant on property any resturant for that matter. There are lots of choices, there are a great deal of them that you can eat in swimwear even!! You don't have to get dressed up unless you want too!! If you look online you can go to this site and fine them all:

Sounds to me like you're talking about dining on the Cruise, not at the resort.

The only meal you really need to get dressed up for is the formal. The other meals you can dress casual. If you search images.google.com for animator's palette, I bet you can find a bunch of pics and see what people wear. If you can't find anything, I can upload some of my pics and you can see how the people at my table and the tables around ours dressed.

The options on deck for food are pretty weak but they are always there: hot dogs, pizza, fruit. Room service is better, and doesn't cost anything more than a tip.

Are you on Disney Magic or Disney Wonder? Which cruise are you doing?

Yeah, sorry - I should have specified DCL. We leave for our park stay on Wednesday, then sail on the Wonder next Sunday - 4 day cruise. We're very excited!

I highly recommend getting dressed up and doing the nice restaurants. The food is fantastic, along with the scenary. Everything just makes you feel so rich. Especially the service, they really are the best

Thanks - I'm going to show this to my wife. She hates trying new things (I guess that's how we've lasted together since 1986!). I like the idea of trying things - especially since I hear that they don't mind you ordering more than one thing or changing if you don't like something.

When did you go? What other recommendations can you make?

I've been twice. Once for a 3 day cruise in '99. And again for a 7 day cruise last summer.

What we found most rewarding was to occassionally spend some time looking at the water while the ship was moving. Almost every time we did this we'd spot a group of dolphins playing in the wake of the ship. One time a very large pod of a thousand or so dolphins was swimming perpendicular to us, that was particularly cool.

There's nothing quite like that ship, I can't wait to go again someday.

How are the Disney cruises? I've been on many RCC cruises and a few on both Carnival and Premier, but never a Disney cruise? I'm guessing they cator more towards families?

I can only compare it to Royal Caribbean, but I'd say it's a step above in most categories. Most everyone will tell you that the food isn't that great, but I loved it.

It definitely would be great for families, but I've only ever gone with my wife. We've had fun each time.

I think there is another topic where we go into greater detail.

I may have to start looking into Disney Cruises. my wife and I are taking our 4th on RCC the end on this month for her Bar Trip. When I introduced her to cruising we went on a RCC ship and ever since that's what she's wanted to travel on. She says the carnival ships look "tacky" i comparison. I tried to tell her that all ships look a bit tacky.
