Haha... I didn't say anything... Just wanted to extend the mayhem! Like you said, who in their right mind would spend actual money on that hairball? Haha... Oh, sorry Mouseoholic!wewantsdaredhead wrote:noooooooooooo!NaCler wrote:mf - keep on guessing... Not the boilers...
Say it ain't so...

And NaCler...maybe this person/people were just having fun and mocking the bear and/or teasing you with said evidence?
I mean, I don't know anything about it of course...![]()

Unlike NaCler and Mousekedude, I really have no ill will towards the bear (I don't own one, but it bothers me in no way if someone I know owns one). I just love the mayhem of the Anti-Duffy Movement...

While I feel that Duffy was forced upon Epcot, I don't feel he is the antichrist. Could Disney have been more original with him? 100% yes. He's a teddy bear in a sailor outfit. That's as original as breathing air. If people weren't stopping for pictures and buying his merchandise than I am sure they would get rid of him. Disney brass nowadays really only cares about one thing...$$$$$$.

I'm one who believes firmly that Epcot should be character free and Duffy doesn't help matters any.yodiwan1 wrote:While I feel that Duffy was forced upon Epcot, I don't feel he is the antichrist. You'll be happy to know you're not the only one who wants a "character-free EPCOT" (except Figment) like the old days...Soarin08 wrote:I'm one who believes firmly that Epcot should be character free and Duffy doesn't help matters any.yodiwan1 wrote:While I feel that Duffy was forced upon Epcot, I don't feel he is the antichrist. I couldn't agree more. The Norway restaurant was completely RUINED when they made it a princess dining experience. I thought the idea behind Epcot was a "world's fair" kind of atmosphere, but it's hard to have that when Stitch is hanging around, and Jasmine is in the Morocco pavilion. </end grump>Soarin08 wrote:I'm one who believes firmly that Epcot should be character free and Duffy doesn't help matters any.

Re: Mayhem Marauders Meet-up Part Deux!
Hi, all! Posting this from Mouseoholic's iPad while I'm supposed to be napping and she's at Epcot getting FP's for later...
There's too much mayhem to report on at this moment, but I couldn't resist jumping in here to comment on the Duffy thing. Yes, we've gone over to the dark side... Once M-oholic saw the little cuss in his Soarin' aviator's outfit it was all over (pics later..). And it didn't help that we were already in a weakened condition because of having bought one for Boilerbabe as a surprise right before she arrived last week.
He's just too darned cute...!

Edit: We got a ton of "magical instant fast passes" from DVC just for doing their tour the other day. They gave us a bunch of cards that we insert into the FP machine instead of our park passes, and the machine spits out FP's that are instantly valid from that exact time, so there's no need to wait for a return time later, and no need to wait before getting another one! So while I and the Boilers enjoy naps at the resort, M'oholic is over there stocking up on FP's for all of us to use this evening. Ain't life grand?

I, too miss the character-free (except Figment of course...but he was the star of an attraction, not a movie character) EPCOT.mindflipper wrote:You'll be happy to know you're not the only one who wants a "character-free EPCOT" (except Figment) like the old days...Soarin08 wrote:I'm one who believes firmly that Epcot should be character free and Duffy doesn't help matters any.yodiwan1 wrote:While I feel that Duffy was forced upon Epcot, I don't feel he is the antichrist. Here's why I feel cahracters in EPcot are fine. Not every family goes to every park in a visit. Let's say you have 2 kids, and for whatever reason you don't go to MK during your trip. Why should your kids have to suffer without seeing thier favorite Disney characters? It;s not like Epcot is shoving characters(besides Duffy) down our throats. Most are stategically placed at countries they have a connection to. I do understand why people like to original idea of no characters, but I also see why Disney has included them.

Re: Mayhem Marauders Meet-up Part Deux!
My problem is I've always found Epcot to be the most adult of the parks (HELLO drinking around the world isn't a family activity!) and I don't see the need to cater to the whims of kids in EVERY single park. Maybe I'm just cynical.yodiwan1 wrote:Here's why I feel cahracters in EPcot are fine. Not every family goes to every park in a visit. Those magic FPs are pretty cool! I can vouch for that, we used them for Dinosaur yesterday. FP return says 11.15am, BOOM, it spits out a FP for that time. Totally cool.

Naw, Amy, Mousekedude will make up for the Duffy purchase with a special purchase of something he's been wanting from the Man Zone Store (a.k.a. The Home Depot). "Well, Sweetie, you got your Duffy, I got me this."
They're married - you don't punish, you just get even.
The 3 of them are just taking advantage of her sweet and generous nature.
