So now the kids are being ranked as an "optional extra" when planning a trip to Disney?NaCler wrote:That's how it all begins my friend. It sounds terrible, but I would much rather go to Disney with only my wife... no kids.

If there is room in the suitcase, they can come, otherwise Mommy and Daddy are dropping you at Grandma's house!!mindflipper wrote:So now the kids are being ranked as an "optional extra" when planning a trip to Disney?NaCler wrote:That's how it all begins my friend. mindflipper/Amy - EXACTLY... The dream vacation would probably be just me and the wife for a day at EPCOT to begin the trip. Then the kids with us for a couple of days at DHS and MK. Then just me and the wife again at AK and EPCOT again. The trick is making that work somehow...

Can't drop them off at the kennels to be boarded on the days you want to go to the parks without'em?NaCler wrote:mindflipper/Amy - EXACTLY... Only if the kennels have a sign on the front that says, "Day Care"mindflipper wrote:Can't drop them off at the kennels to be boarded on the days you want to go to the parks without'em?![]()
Seriously, I remember a time when I was VERY young and I was at a Disney Day Care on property. I remember having lots of toys and watching Disney movies/cartoons all day while my parents were at the Park. Does anyone else have this memory or was it all a really vivid dream that has stayed with me???
And since I have veered far from WWDRH's topic... Excellent report bud. I will make comments on your most recent day sometime later today... I hope.

Not too much maybe...who knows? Maybe we're giving WWDRH some ideas for next time (except for the kennel bit)...NaCler wrote:Only if the kennels have a sign on the front that says, "Day Care"mindflipper wrote:Can't drop them off at the kennels to be boarded on the days you want to go to the parks without'em?![]()

Um, hello, the trick is called a nanny! She (read, uh, me!) takes care of the kids on the days you and your wife are playing at EPCOT and AK, and accompanies you during the days you are at DHS and MK. I have excellent references and work with children on a daily basisNaCler wrote:mindflipper/Amy - EXACTLY... Didn't quite hear that, Amy? Did you say you work for food, lodging, and airline tickets? Was that what you said?Amy wrote:Um, hello, the trick is called a nanny! Will work for food and lodging ~ since I already have my AP, park entry is not necessary

Given airline rates, the food and lodging could be cheaper LOL!

You guys crack me up. You better make sure that Nanny duty gets an actual bed and he doesn't stick you in the kennel, Amy..!!!!

NaCler: I first went when I was 15 without parents (school trip), so I have no recollection of any daycare. maybe your parents just told you they were taking you to WDW and stuck you in a room with some Disney cartoons??
As far as the trip to Epcot with no kids? It was heavenly---just awesome. I highly recommend it. It's one of my most magical moments at WDW...just me, my wife and beers around the world. I just got chills remembering it...
Thanks to all of you for reading along...you guys are awesome.
I think I may drag my feet a little on the last day---I don't want it to end!!

Were the chills from remembering EPCOT without the kids, or were they from remembering the cold beers?wewantsdaredhead wrote:As far as the trip to Epcot with no kids? It was heavenly---just awesome. Henry, I am SOOOO loving your reports. It sounds like such a great time. You and I do some Disney things the same way so I often find myself smiling as I read. Your family is wonderful, your photos great, and your stories (protein and all) made me laugh. Keep it coming, though I think the next installment will bring a tear to my eye as the trip is coming to an end.
Oh, and count me in on the next MM gathering!

Step out to your left please. When the car stops, step out to your left.
