I came home last year looking paler than when I left because I wore my coat everyday except one
I came home tan this time! One of my students looked at me and asked if I had a sunburn, which I did a little, and was quite shocked, until I reminded her I had been in Florida for two weeks. Made me wonder if she noticed she hadn't had piano lessons for two weeks  :?
Haha that's great! A little sun kissed skin sure helps the cold winter months go by. I keep checking accuweather with their 15 day extended forecast hoping it will be 75 and sunny every day from Jan 8-16th! haha

I'll live by that principle ANY day! So far so good with the extended forecast - still in the low 70's about 4 days before we arrive! I hate to wish away Christmas, but I'm more excited for DW! Thank god for these short weeks before the trip!

So.....I have a rather strange question. I've never brought a skateboard/longboard with me on a trip like this and I'd really like to. I'd be using it during downtime from the parks, my parents like to chill after a long day in the parks so I figured what better time to skate around the resort?! ...Are they even allowed inside the resorts? Are skateboards considered carry-on?

That's an interesting question. I found something that indicates Wilderness Lodge allows skateboarding/rollerblading on the paths. Other posts I found on different forums say no wheels of any kind other than at the campground. You might be best served by calling your resort directly and seeing what they have to say.
Same with having it on the plane. Call your airline to check for sure. Looks like some allow it as a carry-on, others require you to box and or check it.

I just wanna give you guys an update. It's looking like this January trip isn't going to happen after all. My grandfather is in failing health and is pretty much wasting away, little by little, each day. My parents informed me that they were postponing the trip until March. I have mixed emotions about all of these things and can't honestly say how I feel about any of it. But one thing is for sure. I'm bummed out. Really bummed out. :(

That's sad Tiki, but family has to come first. WDW will always be there. Enjoy your time with your Grandfather...

much better to be there, than have to haul your cookies home, to be with an ailing family member... i know i have had to do it... the kids have no idea what is going on, and are super p*** to have to leave... the mouse will be forever in Reedy Creek, sadly family will not always be around, so spend your time with them. thoughts are with you...
