Amy - I'll be able to tell you in person. We are going the first night and the meet-up is the next night.

I ate at BD a few years back and had a good meal there, NaCler. You both should have a good time there...NaCler wrote:Thanks for the replies... It turns out now that it doesn't matter anyway as mom has already tried BOMA for dinner and she didn't care for it and I didn't like the timing of our Yachtsman ressie. So, we scrapped both and now have an ADR for Brown Derby. How's that for not being able to make up our minds??? haha...

We've eaten at the Brown Derby several times and love it. The prime rib is to die for... and I've never found a better Cobb Salad anywhere.
Of course, it's definitely one of the spendiest restaurants in WDW, so you have to go into it knowing that it's gonna cost ya to get the good stuff.

Please tell me you have an ADR for Via Napoli...assuming you like pizza. It is definitely a MUST DO in terms of dining. I will make it a point to eat there every trip from now on just to try all of the unique pizzas there.
Man I want a pizza right now...might have to take DW to a pizza place for a date tonight! (married for 2 months yesterday!)

Big - Yes I do... I have an ADR for Via Napoli on our final day. I was starting to doubt it as I have read a lot of reviews that don't like it. But, I trust you and I like all types of pizza. Congrats on the 2 month Anniversary! Time goes by quick doesn't it? Soon you'll be announcing 2 years and so forth...

If you are set in your ways as to how a pizza should taste...be it Chicago or New York or whatever...then you could be disappointed. If you are a lover of all pizza...it will be one of the best pizzas you have ever had. It's like taking someone to eat authentic Mexican food that has only had the American version of it. They won't like it because they're used to the cheap stuff.

BTW...if you think whatever food you are served is not cooked properly or whatnot...you can request that it be taken back to the kitchen. Reading some of the reviews from people who have eaten at Via Napoli is a bit humorous. It's either people who don't know what real pizza tastes like...or they got something bad and just decided to tough it out instead of sending it back. If I'm paying good money for food...you better darn well believe it will be cooked properly!

Yay! Then we can try to eat there if it was spectacular. Although I'm guessing we probably can't get in without ressiesNaCler wrote:Amy - I'll be able to tell you in person. We are going the first night and the meet-up is the next night.

That is the only ADR I have made! We really like our pizza and are looking forward to eating there. I did eat pizza in Italy when I was there so I am familiar with how "real" Italian pizza looks and tastes. I've described it to my Mom too so she is ready for what comes out.theBIGyowski wrote:Please tell me you have an ADR for Via Napoli...assuming you like pizza. I'm kind of scared to think, how did they not cook it properly that sending it back to the kitchen would improve it?theBIGyowski wrote:BTW...if you think whatever food you are served is not cooked properly or whatnot...you can request that it be taken back to the kitchen. I have to ask, is there a reason that many people here get their reservations so far in advance for all the resturants? Is that part of one of those meal plans that you have to have it all down before you arrive? Other than a few of the locations most places I've gone to can get you a table that day if you make the reservation in person/on the house phone that morning. The only wait I had was for the yatchsman since I had just landed. It was like 30 mins in the bar so it wasn't terrible.

Oh yeah, we definitely have an ADR for Via Napoli, and looking forward to the "authentic pizza" experience!
ADR's are important when you have a schedule to stick to... you want to know that you'll be able to eat at the restaurant you want, at (or about) the time you had planned to. Without the ADR, you aren't guaranteed that you can just show up and get a table without a hellacious wait. Most people, knowing that, make their ADR's waaaaaaay in advance to ensure that they get the one they want. If you haven't had a problem getting a table at a place you wanted, when you wanted, then you've just been plain lucky, Wizzard.

Either lucky or DoorW's must really like me. It probably also helps that I avoid the more family friendly places, that seems to cut down on people making reservations.
