I know what you mean Amy...you feel you should be accomplishing more instead of pool time, but we've started to set aside 1-2 days strictly for "resort day" and enjoy that too!!! 8-)

Anyone every tried Birkenstocks or Montrails? Extremely comfortable shoes and good for your feet! Trust me, it's part of my job and I'm flat footed!

Len, did you and your family manage to get pool time just about everyday? I could understand why, Stormalong Bay has alot to offer!

I love Stormalong Bay and the water slide. Just didn’t like it when they have the waterfall going as you are sliding down. It smacks you in the face like you were doing something wrong  But I digress. Sounds like another fantabuloso vacation Len.

Also, listen to my DW about shoes, she not only a shoe expert in real life but she plays one on TV too :D

B-dude. I know just what you are talking about. There usually are two waterfalls on the slide. The second one is the one that kills you and it is right before the final turn that you make upon entry into the pool. For some reason that waterfall was not on so it made the slide a lot more enjoyable. I lucked as that used to make me lose all my speed that I had built up.

Okay, so here is day six. Luckily only two more of these things to type up. I have no idea how Mindflipper managed to type up the CATASTROPHE report. I am typing this up in Word before posting and we are now just about 10 pages! :eek So here is day number six...

Day 6: It was now officially July. I was personally not happy to see that month on the calendar as it meant we were nearing the end of the vacation. However, those thoughts were easily pushed aside as there were still three whole days in Disney left. We did our usual breakfast and pool time. After showering it was off to the Studios to finish up all the attractions we wanted to accomplish. Mom and I went on ToT. It has to be in my opinion one of the best queues in all of Walt Disney World. I am truly fascinated by how authentic everything feels and how well Disney sets the mood. The new effects were nothing that amazing, but they did add a bit to that eeriness. The drops were fantastic and we lucked out with three big drops and one medium sized drop. I made sure to wave to the camera for our photo! We also quickly hit up Toy Story Midway Mania where I had to change my technique due to my injury that I had sustained on the previous night. I somehow managed to still show improvement and got a 176,900, which was vehicle high. I succeeded in going 4/4 in beating my family and the vehicle on Midway Mania. We managed to get out just after the parade had finished up so we could get out of the park with ease. We were heading to EPCOT and decided to take the shuttle bus that Disney offers, as we didn’t feel like spending over a half hour on the Friendships.

It felt good to finally enter EPCOT through the main entrance. We always come in from International Gateway so this was actually a treat for us. We headed over to Innoventions to take care of our Visa pictures. We met Minnie and Goofy who were extremely friendly and happy to see us. (Especially Minnie and I). After we got out of Innoventions, the winds and clouds of an upcoming storm greeted us. The wind was pretty powerful and it was blowing the water from the Fountain of Nations all over the area between Innoventions East and West. We headed to Mouse Gear to check out some EPCOT merchandise and by the time we were done it was pouring. We tried waiting out the rain, but it was not letting up. We finally lucked out where it let up for a minute and we darted to The Land. We figured we could kill the time there before our dinner at Garden Grill. We went on Living with the Land and then headed up to dinner.

Dinner at Garden Grill was pretty good. The food was good, not great. However, the characters were hysterical. We somehow ended up getting in the middle of a food fight between Chip and Dale. On his visit, Chip had stickers of Tinker Bell that he had found and left them on our table. Dale came over 10 minutes later and wondered whose stickers they were. We ratted out Chip and Dale got creative. It worked out that at this time Chip was right above us on the inner level and caught wind of it. Needless to say the chipmunks started hurling sugar packets at each other. Dale also decided that Chip was fairy like Tinkerbell! He started running around in circles to make it look like he was flying just like Tinkerbell! We all were hysterical laughing. Even Dale couldn’t control his laughter throughout this whole ordeal. I will say that the characters at Garden Grill really made the meal. If it wasn’t for them this dinner would have went down with an average review.

After dinner it was still raining outside. We decided to do Soarin’ as it was tough to really go anywhere. The wait time was also pretty small due to the rain. We waited an extra ride cycle so we could get seats in B-1, centered and up high. Following Soarin’, the rain had let up and we decided to walk the World Showcase. We quickly headed over to Norway and took care of Maelstrom, which was a Disney walk on. We also lucked out that they were not showing the film after the attraction as time was running thin. Illuminations was going on within 10 minutes. It started to rain around 5 minutes before the show and we decided to walk through World Showcase during the show. We made it to Germany and Illuminations was about halfway through. By the end of the show we were right around American Adventure and it was now pouring. Needless to saw we all got completely soaked by the time we had made it to the friendship boat dock.

We got back to the room and quickly dried off. We even blow-dried our flip-flops, which felt like sponges from all the rain. We decided that this would be a great night to take the car out and head out to Downtown Disney to do our big shopping at World of Disney. We made it to the store for around 10:30 PM. For those of you that don’t know, Disney will never through you out of a store once it is closed. We ended up getting done around midnight with all our shopping which the CM’s didn’t mind at all. Most of the stuff we bought was shipped as it ends up being cheaper to ship the stuff home. You avoid paying the tax as you pay the shipping costs and you also don’t have to worry about suitcase weights. After shopping we headed back to our room and called it a night. There were only two more days left and we have still not accomplished most of the Magic Kingdom!

Also, the finger injury from Day 5 was still hurting a lot and was not looking good at all. However, I still refused to seek any treatment at park first-aid. I figured if I entered there it would be a half-hour of paperwork as Disney would have to rightfully cover themselves to prevent any lawsuits.

You guys still managed to see a lot even with the inclement weather. Still waiting patiently for some photos!
I hope your finger is ok by now. We had to visit the DL first aid station once when my Mother felt ill. I can say they were very professional and concerned without being overbearing. And there wasn't a ton of paperwork...I'm betting for just a band-aid you could have breezed in and out fairly quickly ;)

It's nice to see you have gained some new respect for the work involved when I did the CATASTROPHE report. And, in case, you're wondering, I did mine in WORD too. Total length: 49 pages!!!!! Top that, Len!

Len: do you play a lot of video games? I bet your parents don't, so that would give an advantage over them.

Look forward to Day 7.

What did you get a Mouse Gear, Len? Any of the retro shirts?

Wow! I'm really enjoying your report Len!!! Yes, I would like to know what goodies did you get at Mouse Gear and World of Disney? I had no idea that they will not throw you out once they're closed?! I anxiously await your pictures!

How is the finger injury, I hope you have fully recovered?!

I knew they didn't really rush you, but I would have thought they would have gently shooed you out that much after closing...I suppose they are happy as long as you are spending money :D I wonder if there comes a time when they will tell everyone that they really need to get moving and make their purchases?

Actually the closing shift is there about two hours after the store closes and they begin restocking. Once their shift ends, the overnight stocking crew comes in. They claim that there are people there 90 minutes after closing and still shopping. The CM"s also told us that it is probably the best time to do your shopping at World of Disney. Amy, I don't know if there is a time when they actually start rushing you out, but I would assume that they might eventually start giving you subtle hints.

As for merchandise, I wanted to buy a classic EPCOT shirt at Mouse Gear, but they didn't have my size in the ones that I liked. I did end up buying the German and Italian Mickey bean bags though. As for World of Disney, I ended up purchasing the Monorail Lime Playset to add it to my collection, photo albums, 2010 Mickey Statue, Classic Mickey watch, and some other things.

The injury did finally heal up. However, it did take close to three weeks to finally heal.

Mindflipper, I do play video games, but I don't think that is what makes me that much better at the game. I think it comes down to hand-eye coordination. As for 49 pages, that's not a trip report or a story. That's a novel!!! I had a ton of respect for it, but to think of it as 49 pages that had to get typed is just scary. And then realizing that you did this within about a week and a half is just fascinating.

Well, they say there's a great American author in every one of us dying to get out. Well, it got out and its amazing what got accomplished. However, I'm big into planning & reviewing, two things had to forego. As for its length, I have to admit I ended up omitting many things to edit down the length. The Mad Hatter sequence was much different but far too long. Anyhow, my "great American author" is back where it should be, deeply buried. I've wrapped his coffin with heavy chains so there should be no hope of it escaping again.

As to the video games: playing the video games helps sharpen your hand-eye coordination. "Practice makes perfect"

Glad to hear you healed - but I was just beginning to like your new nickname, "Nine-Fingered Len". Glad to hear all ten fingers are functioning again.

NOOOOOO!!! You must let him come out to play again! He is simply too good to be buried away and forgotten :( But I can understand if he needs a break  ;)

Len, I notice you didn't say much about meeting up with Mickey in the Visa picture area! Is it over between the two of you??? Or were you keeping it on the DL since Goofy was there too?! :D

Len, Maybe I missed this but you mention breakfast & dinner each day but what about lunch? Do you skip it & just snack midday?

BB: The thing between Minnie and I is far from over. We did talk a bit and agreed that Mickey is her number 1 man, but I am first in line if things should ever break down between the two of them.

horizons1: I am not forgetting to mention lunch at all. We tended to never get anything for lunch. The most we would get during the day would be a drink. Most mornings we would have the buffet breakfast and that was more than enough to hold us over until Dinner which was usually between 5:30 and 6:00. On most nights we did also have a late night snack. It was either a chocolate chip cookie, ice cream, or Planet Hollywood. We also had Mickey pretzels in the hotel room.

Well, Day 7 is ready to go and included is a hint to when I hope to have the pictures ready. I am also hoping to get the rest of the trip report typed up tonight and have it posted later.

Day 7: I can’t believe it’s almost over. However, there were still two full days of Disney left and a lot on the agenda. There was no time left to be depressed at all. This day would start out a bit different from the rest. We got up, ate breakfast, and headed straight to EPCOT. We figured we would be able to get some pool time in later in the afternoon.

We got to EPCOT and decided to hang around Future World as we needed to print our pictures from the Visa area from the previous day. We also wanted to do it again as you are allowed to go once every day. We still had time before that started so we headed off to Mission Space. We decided that we wanted to ride as a family, so that meant no orange team for dad and I. We acted like we were disappointed, but in reality we were glad to be taking it easy. I will say that after experiencing Orange, the Green really feels like nothing. However, if you are only experiencing Green than it could be seen as slightly thrilling. I will say that the Green team reminds me a lot of Body Wars. Speaking of which, I headed over to Wonders of Life and took a picture of that sad empty space.

By this time we were nearing time for the Visa area to open up so we headed to Innoventions. It appears that they work in shifts and that the trend seemed to be either Minnie and Goofy or Mickey and Pluto. We lucked out and got to see Mickey and Pluto! After that it was off to the camera store to print out our pictures.

We ended up leaving the park and headed back to our room. We unfortunately were running a tad late so we had to omit the pool in favor of some off property fun. We headed out to the Prime outlets to see what the Disney outlet over there was like. They pretty much have the same merchandise, except that it will vary depending on how well something sells in each store. I lucked out in finding a long sleeve shirt in my size, which I had liked at the Premium outlet store. The outlets were followed by a drive down International Drive. Dinner was scheduled to be off property on this night as we were using this night to continue a family tradition of eating at “Ming Court”. For those of you who are unfamiliar, it is this fantastic Chinese restaurant about 15 minutes off property and within walking distance of the Orange County Convention Center. As always the service was excellent and the food was fantastic. We have yet to find a Chinese restaurant that compares to them in New Jersey.

Following dinner, I fulfilled my promise to the board of proving that I can still fit inside the trunk of our rental, the Kia Amanti. We took pictures, which will be posted hopefully in the coming week or so, and headed back towards the property. We decided that we would head over to Magic Kingdom to accomplish parts of Fantasyland and see Toontown for the final time.

We managed to get back to the resort for 7:30 and were at the Magic Kingdom for 8:00. Our course of action was to dart over to Fantasyland and start getting on attractions. It was the perfect plan as most people were hanging around for the parade and fireworks. We were able to get through Dumbo, Philharmagic, Snow White, Pooh, and the Speedway all within an hour and fifteen minutes. I will say this was the first time we ever had a CM who interacted with the pre-recorded Minnie, Goofy, and Donald prior to the show beginning in Philharmagic. I found it to be excellent and really hope that it will be a thing that catches on. Following these attractions we decided to head over to Toontown. We quickly took care of Mickey and Minnie’s houses and realized that it was time for fireworks. We decided that it would be best to hang around in the back of the park and wait until it was getting close for the 11PM parade to start to make our exit. We found the Princess and Fairies meet and greet and saw they each had small wait times. We hit up the Princess line and got to meet Ariel (as a princess), Cinderella, and Belle. They were extremely personable and really made it a pleasant experience and something that I would consider doing again. After the Princesses we headed back in line to do the Fairies. It was a bit longer of a wait than we had originally hoped for, but it was short nonetheless. The fairies were really funny and had us fly from person to person. All in all, the Princesses and Fairies really surprised me. They were all extremely friendly and personable. They also spent a lot of time with us, which was surprising since it is a large meet and greet.

We headed out of the park and were stuck behind the MSEP 11PM crowds. We decided that we wanted to get a snack and ghirardelli was the place of choice. We took the monorail over to Contemporary and caught a bus to Downtown Disney.

All in all it was a long and exhausting day 7. The sadness and reality of going home was starting to begin. However, we had one more full day of Disney left and it was going to be magical. It called for a full day in the Magic Kingdom.
