No problem sir. I thought it would be a nice remembrance of a fantastic time. I just hope it's not too big for the Mods... *waiting on lightning to strike*
I see nothing wrong with it.

I'm seeing that I have a lot of catching up to do in this thread. Long story as to my brief period of being M.I.A. Good to see posts that bursting with pictures. Pictures of WDW always help to cheer me up!

We have noted your absence, Len90. Did your slip on the ice prove to be worst than you originally thought?

A slip on ice is the least of my worries....

Amy got all caught up on reading your report. We are definitely going to have to get to the bottom of your misbehaving apple. Does your paper work state what was wrong and what they fixed on your machine. Also, if it is still acting up, speak to supervisors at AppleCare and see if they can lead you better and even get you set up with a more experienced genius. I know my apple store takes pride in their work and really strive for perfection.

I really enjoyed all the pictures you posted. Great to see such a picture rich report of Animal Kingdom. It seems like a lot of us (including myself) don't take the time to enjoy all the theming it really has.

I didn't get any paperwork when I utilized the genius bar ~ was I supposed to? I am going to try calling AppleCare this week but I might be outside of my 90 days. Then I will have to wait until I order my AppleCare from Amazon. I decided saving $70 was worth returning the unopened one I just purchased when I was there on Friday! This Apple store really didn't seem to be too concerned with their customer service :(
Thanks for slogging through the report so far. I know it is kind of long but I am glad people are enjoying the photos. If I lived closer I would definitely want to spend a few days simply taking photos of the little details at the parks.
I do hope whatever is causing you concern is something that can be remedied soon!!

You can get a student or teacher discount on AppleCare at the apple store. Also, you have 1 year of coverage automatically. You should have had paperwork from bringing in your computer. I would definitely call up apple.

I'll have to check what the teacher discount is at the store, I am eligible for that, but I doubt it is $70...and nope, no paperwork. I know I have a year of coverage, but it is the 90 of phone support that I am right up against...like today or tomorrow!

Amen!!! Love, love love all the pictures!

I hate you got on the wrong bus-but you took it well...They would have had to revive me because I would have gone into cardiac arrest----I am such a planner that this would have caused "the big one" :)
Sometimes I think I need to chill out, but it never happens...

Again--great pics!

So, H, have you never just abandoned the plan and gone with flow? Just winged it with improvisation?

Wow! You get thrown really easily then huh? I figure there is no point hyperventilating over mistakes such as this because there really isn't anything you can do other than catch another bus to the correct park. I suppose it is good that I don't stress too much over planning. And on this trip I was super flexible just because that is what the situation called for :D

Great reporting, Amy! It just keeps getting better and better! Thanks for keeping it alive! :D

Okay, now it's my turn again.

Day 7, Monday 12-6-10

At this point, I’m having a really hard time remembering what we did on a particular day. I still have our original trip itinerary, but we didn’t stick to it every day. So I’m trying to remember everything based on the pictures, which I’m not even sure are in the right order (hangs head in shame…).
So anyway, I’ll do the best I can. On this day, I do remember that we slept in and then went to MK to goof around with no particular plan in mind. It was very cold! While we shivered our way around the park, we got in touch with the Boilers. They were having a bad morning because of room issues, which I’ll let them explain when they start their report. So we decided to head over to the Poly to hang out with them for moral support while they tried to get everything resolved. When we got there it was about lunch time and we were all hungry, so we walked over to the GF and had lunch at Gasparilla Grill & Games. Then we just kinda wandered casually back toward the Poly and did some picture taking around the various GF facilities and the Poly grounds. We even got to see a carriage preparing for the arrival of a bridal party at the wedding pavillion. Here’s some of the pics we took on the way back to the Poly:

When we got back to the Poly, Boilerdude checked to see if their new room was ready. It was, but they hadn’t even bothered to call him and tell him like they had promised. So they picked up their new room keys and we all headed over to check it out. It turned out to be a pretty nice room, and we all decided to just hang out and chill there for a little while. Boilerdude and I went to the Concierge lounge to get a bottle of wine while Boilerbabe got settled in, and Mouseoholic hung out with her until we got back. We sat around for a couple hours sipping wine and chatting, which was a nice change of pace. It was also exactly what poor Boilerbabe needed. She was really upset that her beloved Poly had been treating them so badly. But there again, I’ll let her go into all that when she does her report.

At this point, it was getting close to our (Mouseoholic and my) dinner ADR at Narcoossee’s, so we bade the Boilers farewell and headed back toward the GF while they settled in for some rest. The plan was for them to meet up with us again later at MK after we finished dinner. Dinner at Narcoossee’s was fabulous. We loved everything about the place… although we were a little puzzled as to why they were displaying a live lobster on the bar next to the kitchen. Just seemed weird to us:

Image

After dinner we rushed out to the monorail and hurried over to MK so we could get a decent spot to watch Wishes. The crowds were pretty heavy, so it was a real challenge to get a spot, but we managed to set up shop right in the middle of Main street, right before the crossroads. Here’s some shots of Wishes:

The Boilers had also arrived, so after Wishes was over we all met at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor to get some hot chocolate. Now that it was dark, it was even colder. We were all freezing our buns off, but fortified by our hot chocolate, we set off to create some mayhem. It was an EMH night, so we knew there would be plenty of time for it. Now this part is a little fuzzy to me, as far as what order we did things, so my apologies to Mouseoholic and the Boilers if I get some of the details mixed up. I do remember that at some point we watched MSEP, so here’s some pics from that:

We decided that Tomorrowland was ripe for some mayhem, so we went there. Again, I can’t remember what order we did everything in, but here’s some highlights. A late-night snack at Cosmic Ray’s sounded good, so we ate there. The Boilers enjoyed dancing to the melodic renderings of Sonny Eclipse:

We figured some racing at Tomorrowland Speedway would get our blood pumping:

Freezing our a**es off on the Peoplemover:

Creating mayhem at Buzz Lightyear:

The Teacups are always a must-do:

A quick stop to pick up more hot chocolate (did I mention it was really cold…?), and then off to see the newly refurbished Pooh Adventure, including the infamous germ-spreading Honey Wall:

Then off to Frontierland. BTMRR was walk-on:

Image

After that we headed to Adventureland to ride POTC. Afterwards on the way out, Boilerbabe was jamming to the Adventureland music, and although Aloha Isle was closed so that we couldn't get a Dole Whip (it was too cold anyway), she still couldn’t stop herself from busting out with the famous Dole Whip Dance. I was duly impressed, although I was too cold to try very hard at learning it myself:

Image

By the time we finished wreaking all the havoc and mayhem we could think of, the park was about to close. So we stopped for a couple of “good night” pics in front of the castle, then headed home for some sleep:

That’s it for Day 7 folks! Hopefully Boilerbabe will be able to add some details and clarifications when she posts her report. Meanwhile, I’ll get to work on Day 8 as soon as I can!

Very, very rarely, mf...
In fact even our semi-impromptu road trip was very well planned :)
It's just how I am.

My wife has finally embraced it and we had a great time this last trip...

I think it stems from the fact that I don't anything will get done if it hasn't been planned. Maybe I can plan some time to be spotaneous? :D :D

Mousekedude, just looking at some of those photos is making me feel cold. Brrrrrrrrrrr..........

Great trip report! It seems like so many people were cursed with bad hotel service this last time. One of my direct reports at work also recently had a bad time at a hotel because the reservation system was done all day when they were trying to check in, so they gave them free one day passes! Lucky! But I don't think that happened to any of the Mayhem Marauders during their bad times.
