Great reporting, Amy! It just keeps getting better and better! Thanks for keeping it alive!
Okay, now it's my turn again.
Day 7, Monday 12-6-10
At this point, I’m having a really hard time remembering what we did on a particular day. I still have our original trip itinerary, but we didn’t stick to it every day. So I’m trying to remember everything based on the pictures, which I’m not even sure are in the right order (hangs head in shame…).
So anyway, I’ll do the best I can. On this day, I do remember that we slept in and then went to MK to goof around with no particular plan in mind. It was very cold! While we shivered our way around the park, we got in touch with the Boilers. They were having a bad morning because of room issues, which I’ll let them explain when they start their report. So we decided to head over to the Poly to hang out with them for moral support while they tried to get everything resolved. When we got there it was about lunch time and we were all hungry, so we walked over to the GF and had lunch at Gasparilla Grill & Games. Then we just kinda wandered casually back toward the Poly and did some picture taking around the various GF facilities and the Poly grounds. We even got to see a carriage preparing for the arrival of a bridal party at the wedding pavillion. Here’s some of the pics we took on the way back to the Poly:
When we got back to the Poly, Boilerdude checked to see if their new room was ready. It was, but they hadn’t even bothered to call him and tell him like they had promised. So they picked up their new room keys and we all headed over to check it out. It turned out to be a pretty nice room, and we all decided to just hang out and chill there for a little while. Boilerdude and I went to the Concierge lounge to get a bottle of wine while Boilerbabe got settled in, and Mouseoholic hung out with her until we got back. We sat around for a couple hours sipping wine and chatting, which was a nice change of pace. It was also exactly what poor Boilerbabe needed. She was really upset that her beloved Poly had been treating them so badly. But there again, I’ll let her go into all that when she does her report.
At this point, it was getting close to our (Mouseoholic and my) dinner ADR at Narcoossee’s, so we bade the Boilers farewell and headed back toward the GF while they settled in for some rest. The plan was for them to meet up with us again later at MK after we finished dinner. Dinner at Narcoossee’s was fabulous. We loved everything about the place… although we were a little puzzled as to why they were displaying a live lobster on the bar next to the kitchen. Just seemed weird to us:
After dinner we rushed out to the monorail and hurried over to MK so we could get a decent spot to watch Wishes. The crowds were pretty heavy, so it was a real challenge to get a spot, but we managed to set up shop right in the middle of Main street, right before the crossroads. Here’s some shots of Wishes:
The Boilers had also arrived, so after Wishes was over we all met at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor to get some hot chocolate. Now that it was dark, it was even colder. We were all freezing our buns off, but fortified by our hot chocolate, we set off to create some mayhem. It was an EMH night, so we knew there would be plenty of time for it. Now this part is a little fuzzy to me, as far as what order we did things, so my apologies to Mouseoholic and the Boilers if I get some of the details mixed up. I do remember that at some point we watched MSEP, so here’s some pics from that:
We decided that Tomorrowland was ripe for some mayhem, so we went there. Again, I can’t remember what order we did everything in, but here’s some highlights. A late-night snack at Cosmic Ray’s sounded good, so we ate there. The Boilers enjoyed dancing to the melodic renderings of Sonny Eclipse:
We figured some racing at Tomorrowland Speedway would get our blood pumping:
Freezing our a**es off on the Peoplemover:
Creating mayhem at Buzz Lightyear:
The Teacups are always a must-do:
A quick stop to pick up more hot chocolate (did I mention it was really cold…?), and then off to see the newly refurbished Pooh Adventure, including the infamous germ-spreading Honey Wall:
Then off to Frontierland. BTMRR was walk-on:
After that we headed to Adventureland to ride POTC. Afterwards on the way out, Boilerbabe was jamming to the Adventureland music, and although Aloha Isle was closed so that we couldn't get a Dole Whip (it was too cold anyway), she still couldn’t stop herself from busting out with the famous Dole Whip Dance. I was duly impressed, although I was too cold to try very hard at learning it myself:
By the time we finished wreaking all the havoc and mayhem we could think of, the park was about to close. So we stopped for a couple of “good night” pics in front of the castle, then headed home for some sleep:
That’s it for Day 7 folks! Hopefully Boilerbabe will be able to add some details and clarifications when she posts her report. Meanwhile, I’ll get to work on Day 8 as soon as I can!
